Metro Data Problems 6/28/11 (WARNING: DO NOT RESET YOUR PHONE AS IT WILL NOT FIX ANYTHING!!!)

Is anyone else experiencing data problems today? I am in SWFL and have had problems since this morning around 7:00. I have been intermittently able to get on the Internet through the browser, but mail is not being updated, Accuweather is not updating, and I got a message that the IP address was banned when I tried to go to this website from the phone. Strange! I am just wondering if anyone has any info on what is going on with Metro this time. Thanks!

The Dallas area isn't having any problems that I'm aware of. I've been using it throughout the day.

I never thought to look there since I cannot ever imagine being their fan! :D
LOL! Whether I like them or not, I'll fan/follow a company's FB/Twitter page if I'm using their services. Not only do the companies sometimes post contests to social networks, it's occasionally easier to find out news this way. Sometimes they'll explain or announce something on a social network before anywhere else.

I just came from Daytona Beach and didn't have data.

I'm in Deland now and still don't have data.

MetroPCS sucks. I hate their network, I'm changing soon.

But I don't like MetroPCS anymore. I'm soooo porting my number out.

It's either broken or low signal strength! Sucks! Either way, I can't use my phone!

Ny is having problems to . Cant use internet or anything it doesnt even load any info thnks

I can send and receive texts and calls but nothing data wise. I think if things like this happen maybe they should send out a general text to everyone. They can do it for the billing, why not outages?

Im in Northern Cali and having the same problems. Works fine around Wifi but nothing happening when not!! Very UPSET!!
Anyone have an answer on what to do? Ive re booted the sytem and started re loading applications, but cant even do that with out wifi!

It has absolutely nothing to do with your phone. They are having an outage. Nothing will be fixed on your phone until they get it fixed. I am sorry that you lost everything.


To everyone in general:

This is a MetroPCS problem, not your phone. It has happened before and will happen again. DO NOT RESET YOUR PHONE OR LET METROPCS RESET IT! Doing that will only cause you heartache when you realize that it didn't fix anything. Between here and other sites with customers complaining, I have probably seen ten or more people that reset their phone and are now unhappy about it. It would be really nice if they had sent out an advisory that this was going on, but they don't seem to do that. The last time this happened it lasted almost a week, so let's hope this gets fixed faster this time!!!

Let me add one thing for those that did already reset their phones.

You can try going to the market website from a pc to see if the apps you had are still associated with your Gmail account. It would probably be easier to load them from there, but you will probably want the phone to be on a WiFi connection when downloading all those apps again. Unfortunately you will not get your data back, such as saved games, active log-ins, etc.
