Setting ringtones for certain contacts.

The fire department I am in decided to stop using alpha numeric pagers to alert us to calls. Now its sends it through text messages and email.

The problem stems that each text comes from a different number. I would like to set it so it is a different ring tone then all of my other contacts.

Go to the Contact => menu => options & select ringtone.

The problem is that, if it comes in from a different phone number every time, I don't know of a way to assign a single custom ringtone to every "unknown" number, unless you assign a custom ringtone to every contact and then set the default ringtone to whatever you want to handle the rest.

PRO: When the phone rings, you'll know if it's a contact or a potential fire call.
CON: If anyone else calls you that is not on your contacts list, the phone will not know to distinguish it from the numbers your department uses.
