I tried by checking the USB debugging but it still can't connect to the computer.. but nothing work.. it just keep on charging , both computer and phone doesn't recognize it.. I put in HTC Sync Mode , Disk drive mode too but nothing happen.. please help me.. I wonder if it's because I'm using a USB cable for all android phone not for HTC.. and also when I charge , it takes all night long like for 8 hours for only 60%

Maybe the cable you are using is a charge only cable not a charge and data transfer cable? I have a generic cable that will only charge my phones can't use it to connect any of my phones to my pc.

is there really a charging cable only ? when I bought the charger I told him that get me the USB cable too and he gave this to me , I'm a new android user so I don't know which is which , I thought it's the same is iPhone's cable

Downloaded HTC sync today and connected my phone by USB cable. Scyn didn't recognize my phone. I was able to download pictures onto my computer using the same cable. Do I need a different cable?

Htc sync might not have downloaded properly. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I had to do this 2 times before it worked right.

If your pc is recognizing the phone then the cable is fine. Just a problem htc sync maybe. When you try to connect to sync what usb connection option are you using (should choose htc sync option) ? Is usb debugging on(should be on) ?

Yeah i have seen some cables that are only capable of Charging. My husband had an iphone and bought a spare generic cable at the mall and couldn't get iTunes to recognize the phone only when he used the actual iphone cable would iTunes work.

You can get an actual htc charge /data cable from amazon for like $10 or check the classified forums here I picked one up for $10 and it came with the wall charger.

I got my Inspire in February. It is now July. It has NEVER "Synced" using HTC Sync. I tried EVERYTHING. I just found the very simple solution online today so, I am applying to every forum I went to that did not have an answer. I am signing up and posting like crazy. The problem is that the software crashes during boot because of your itunes folder located in your "My Music" folder. Just drag and drop it to somewhere else (I used "My Documents") and then try to sync again. POW! Take THAT!!!!! -FYI I paired my music down file by file returning it and found one song file that was causing the problem. If you wanna move stuff back, do it piece by piece.

this only occurs when you have iTunes on your computer right ? if you don't have iTunes then everything is fine ? and 1 more question , what is rooting your android phone ? like I'm having the HTC Inspire right now , what do you get after rooting it ?
