I don't know. I think people need to realize that no phone is perfect and you will always find a phone that does at least one thing (maybe more) better than yours. That said, I am very happy with my MyTouch. It is no more problematic than any other phone and it does a lot of things for me. I'm quite sure that something better will be coming out soon (there always is) but for now, I'm quite happy with it. Nothing else out there currently has me drooling over it enough to tempt me. I still kind of have my eye on a CLIQ but definitely not until they upgrade the software.

actually they sent me a new phone and it is working alot better than the other mytouch i had. not as many force closures and the text typing is a lot better. but overall im still let down compared to my old iphone 3gs

wow so your old one was defective?

anyways i like my mytouch... i do sorta miss my iphone but i wont go back to at&t though.... and i dont want to come out my pocket for a new phone again so im ok with what i have....
it would be nice to have a 2.0 or 2.1 update though....

my only real problem is with the occasional lag and being hung at a black screen or icon taking to long to load up... also the keyboard lag. ( which i think would be and easy fix if they would just enable multitouch )

i had lots of keyboard lag before now its running fine even with all the apps i have now.

2.1 update seems at this point wishful thinking. im starting to think tmo/htc are gonna leave us hanging on this one. I hope im wrong. but with the fender and mytouch 1.2. the fender has more ram and the mytouch 1.2 is rumored to have it also. being that the fender is the only one to be confirmed for a 2.1 update im assuming version 1.2 also will get it.setting us 1st gen up for a let down

This is why I am somewhat satisfied. I have only had the phone for about 2 weeks and Im already itching to get a N1. I was due for a new phone in the first place and was tired of BB and WM6. I am very happy with the Android OS, just not the hardware thats in my hand...

I will more than likely purchase a N1 in a few weeks and give the MT3G to my wife. I just see the N1 getting all of the future updates because of the hardware is has...
and hell, one year from now we will probably looking forward to android 36.5.5 or something...

N1 seems it has the edge over other devices but look at this.
Apple Tablet Design Reportedly Akin to Flattened First-Generation iPhone - Mac Rumors

I know Apple will be officially announce the new product on the 27th.
Now, that is something very compelling product as long as it's under $500 to even Apple haters like myself

Nice...but it is still an Apple product. I dont want to get into that...
I also dont think that you can classify this a "phone". A 10" display??? I hope the consumers of this have really, really big pockets. (so they can fit this in them)
I see this taking place of netbooks, which would be nice....especially on an android os..

This doesnt really scare me or bother me too much. I had the first gen bb storm and it still got the new updates that the bb storm 2 got. the storm 2 has more memory then the storm 1.... So to me it seems like a replay of what ive experienced already.

I imagine the best Android device out there is the N1 however, I would never buy this device until/if Google works out all their customer service issues. I don't often have need to call up for something but if I do, I want to KNOW that I will get someone who knows what they're doing and can help (a live person too). Until then, I'm sticking with strickly T-Mo phones. As for the iPhone, as long as it stays on AT&T, I will never get it. Besides, regardless of the fact that I think it's a great little phone, I just hate that a lot of people get it just because it's "the" phone to have. There are a lot of really good phones out there that just don't get the attention. I'm all for the little guy. ;)

i had mine since september and still find it hard to put down... Android has to be the most addictive OS out there..... ( i wasnt like this with my iphone nor my blackberry )
Yeah! I've noticed I'm on my computer a lot less now since my MyTouch has just about everything I need. To go from a phone that didn't have as much functions to one with what seems to have endless capabilities was mindblowing. I love the convenience of checking live football scores and reading up on sports news, keeping up with friends via the Facebook app, getting e-mail notifications right away, etc.

One thing's for sure: I'm never going back to Blackberry ever again.

P.S. I'm already stressing out about what I'm gonna do without it when I go to London for two weeks in April. Have you seen T-Mobile's Data Roaming charges?! Yeesh!

Don't know how it is in London, but my friend who went to Taiwan got his phone unlocked by T-Mobile (through the phone, if you've been with TMO for over 90 days, they'll do it for free), and then just used pre-paid data SIM cards in Taiwan for cheap.

i had it since launch all the way to the 3gs version. i love money more and thus loved the 30 a month i save by going with tmo. but i miss my iphone terribly. truthfully i would go back, maybe give android another try once its stable and once it is unified. having a phone 4 months after release and it being obsolete already is sad. at leasy i know i will be good for one year and have the latest when it comes to the iphone. they update there hansets yearly and those with older phones still get current software upgrades

I bought this phone a week ago, and I like it so far. But it seems just a bit slow and sometimes laggy when you run apps. For example, when I play the game "Abduction", it always seems to lag at times. It's not the kind of unbearable lag, but still. It's just a 1mb game, why does it lag anyways?

I'm on 1.6 btw. The only apps I have installed (besides stock), are APNdroid, Abduction, Bonsai Blast, ColorNote, IMDb, Paper Toss, and Red Stone. Mostly all games.

I'm thinking of either rooting it on 2.2 and see if that helps, or selling it and getting the Nexus One or Samsung Vibrant or something. I love the Android OS though.
