Root {ROM} Das bamf 3.0. V. 4.9

(Side note: I am less than impressed with Titanium Backup. It tries to do too much, and is more difficult to set up and get it to do what I want. I think I will try something else, or just go manual. Any recommendations?)

I believe a lot of people are recommending "My backup root" or the paid version "My backup Pro" in place of Titanium. Think i'm going to get the paid version soon, sucks that I'm going to have to pay for a 2nd app to do what Titanium Pro was supposed to do.

Stupid Titanium cost me all my progress in all 3 angry birds and plants vs zombies. I was pretty far on all 4 games, really not happy that I have to start at the beginning on each.

in the das bamf toolkit > terminal session (blue screen will open up) > type in su > type in st > and it's #5 I think. This is how I do anything involving overclocking and stuff, don't use setcpu or anything like that.

Update: I just switched it to battery saver. Haven't touched the phone for like half hour, maybe 45 minutes. Turned it back on and the battery did not move a single percent. Now that is how battery management should be!

I don't want to hijackk, but I have been running this for a couple days, and I was wondering if anyone else was using the weather lockscreen, and having trouble with it updating on its own...it still says im in the town i work in :(

Did you change the time frame for it to update????

I use the lockscreen and have it set to refresh every hour and anytime I open the weather itself. Has been working fine with no issues for me.

for what its worth, the day or so i ran the weather on the lockscreen on another rom(i forget wich now) i had troubles with it staying updated and working if i tried to use adw launcher.

im assuming most of ya run the sense launcher to get the rest of the 3.0 goodies,so shouldnt be an issue, but thot id mention it. :)

Thanks jcnyc I'm using the battery saving setting and getting great battery life.

Np, I've actually run shutdown problems with having my phone extremely undervolted when idle (from battery saver profile). The phone will just turn itself off and you will have to do a battery pull to turn it back on. If that happens to you, nothing is wrong with the phone, i think it just has to do with that setting making the phone go to sleep.

There is discussion in the BAMF forums, and confirmation from Butch and Eris, that something HUGE is in the pipeline that will make Sense 3.0 a *distant memory* as Eris puts it. And, there is talk that it could be a BAMF AOSP ROM. Now, wouldn't that be sweet! If they do AOSP, I'm hoping that there'll be a Remix version of it with lots of cool mods and decor by Butch!

Interesting about a possible BAMF AOSP ROM. I hope they do it right and keep it small and simple.

Yeah, I agree. I think they are striving to to break through the performance barrier that hinders any Sense ROM. The perfect mix seems to be the simplicity of AOSP but with a bit of polish and integration that Sense has.

I've always loved the performance of AOSP, but have always gotten bored fast with the bland UI experience. Also a pain to have to always have to go to another app to do something that is related to the app you're in. In other words, AOSP could use a dose of integration and intuitiveness, and I think that's what the BAMF team is trying to do.

I think they can accomplish just that and still keep the ROM light and lightning fast. I think they'll come in around 90MB. I would consider anything under 100MB to be indistinguishable in size.
