Root ApeX 2.0 RC2 - GMail doesn't sync?

I've been running ApeX 2.0 RC2 for over a week now, and I've got an issue with my GMail. It notifies me when I get a new GMail message, but if I mark something as read, or mark something Archive, it doesn't seem to work. If I go to the GMail web site, whatever I've done in the GMail app doesn't sync.

Any ideas?

Yep. Tried clearing cache on the GMail app itself, then tried rebooting into CW and clearing cache and dalvik cache, no help. So, I uninstalled GMail and reinstalled it, still no help.

One thing I did figure out is that if I'm in GMail and hit the menu button and choose "Refresh", it does do the sync then. I never had to do that before. With rooted Gingerbread (or Darkslide or any other Blurred ROM), as soon as I archived something on the phone, it disappeared from my web inbox.

Had this happen many times from either one of these things:

1. Roms that did not have Gapps (google apps pre-installed) requiring you to install the APK from the market. I refused to install those ROMs because they are just a pain with regards to synching.

2. The Rom did in fact have gmail pre-installed BUT it automatically updated on the market.

So try uninstalling the updated Gmail. Once you do that you're gmai account cache will clear so just give it a few to re-sync. While you're at it, untick the auto update on the gmail app from the market.

On apex rc2 all I had to do was install gmail from market, settings-accounts-check auto sync-google account-check gmail sync and done

i have issues with my gmail on RC2 almost weekly, and i have to wipe data/cache to get it back up and running. sadly I have to stick with RC2 since my phone got knocked in a sink and water damaged. The only that i've found that doesn't work is SBF flashes (RSD doesnt recognize my phone anymore)
