Is this Virus of a Defect ?

Two questions:

Yesterday I mistakenly left my phone in the car. It was well over 100 degrees outside, so I am sure it was much hotter in the car. Not sure that is relevant, but ...

Anyway, when I turned on my phone, it started typing all by itself and launching apps all by itself. I took out the battery several times, but does not seem to help, I called Verizon and they wanted to do a hard reset, but I did not want to do that cause I have some notes in Mymemo that I would lose, which brings me to my second question.

Is there anyway to save my memos, if my phone needs to be replaced or reset?

Phone overheated. Just power it off and let it cool off inside before powering it up again.

If you're somewhere humid, it could also be a function of the humidity causing the touchscreen to do weird things. I had a problem like that when condensation from my glass of iced tea dripped down onto my phone. Once it was dry, everything was fine again.

I cannot solve your problem but I have a similar one. I did not leave my phone in my car. I had not used my Droid for a couple of months. I got it out and turned it on and it wen crazy. I turned it off and took the battery out.

My phone is rooted and I am running Liquid Gingerbread 1.9.

Any suggestions on how to fix it or can it be fixed?

Thanks,
Glenn

Both of you - leave the battery out for ~10 minutes (some say as little as 5, I like to err on the side of caution) and then try powering it up and see what happens.

As for MyMemos, ahven't used it, not sure - have to look it up and see.

I took the battery out for over 15 minutes. Then after I turned it back on it seemed slightly better but after a couple of minutes it went crazy. It is almost like a demo mode that types and changes screens by itself.

Weird,
Glenn

Sounds like the heat screwed up your touch screen. next time you talk to verizon tell them that you already did a hard reset a few times and it still did not fix the issue.

Definitely a defect... same happened to my phone 2 months ago... I was paying the insurance fee, so I took it to the Verizon store and they replace it
