Help Galaxy Tab 10.1, no Netflix, what's the point?

Besides being surprised I can't find more chatter on the web about this awesome looking tablet being "kind of" released tomorrow, I am sad it does not at this time support Netflix. In a recent poll I saw, something like 68% of people wanting or owning tablets main focus was watching media/movies. I am an equal opportunity gadgeteer, I own a Droid (and my next phone will be an Android one too) and an iPad2, as of recently. I had been holding out for a Honeycomb tablet, since I like the resolution and openness of the platform, but the ongoing lack of my favorite paid content delivery provider has made it a moot point for now. As I have 90 days to return purchases to Target ;) I am hoping the Tab 10.1 gets Netflix's support and I get to compare the two and decide for myself.

I know it's not much consolation, but it IS coming. With so many present and future phones and tablets supporting nVidia's Tegra line, Netflix is working on expanding its DRM (ugh) libraries for that platform. I know it sucks especially since we're STILL WAITING ON THE VIDEO SKYPE APP THAT'S BEEN FINISHED FOR MONTHS BUT NOT YET RELEASED DUE TO BACKDOOR CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS! But in all honesty be patient, once netflix hits Tegra I think you'll be pretty satisfied.

This thread sums up my thoughts exactly got my tab today and there is literally nothing to do on these android based tabs.. No netflix, no wsj app, google bookstore is terrible. Returning this thing tomorrow

I'm just throwing this out there, but on the 7" Tab there's an app called "Readers Hub". I figured it might also be on the 10" Tab. From here you can see newspapers like WSJ.

Why is Google Bookstore terrible? I like it. I already read one book, it was free. They have best selection of free books. I would definitely wait it out. The Galaxy Tab 10 has an absolutely huge support community. It's just a matter of time before someone, either Samsung or some developer, to come up with a Netflix app.

I just watched a Netflix movie on my 7" SGT last night. Picture and framerate was good, no buffering or skips (I was on WiFi), but the sound on the internal speakers could have been a little lounder. I had to turn off my bedside fan, but then I have a little hearing loss, so your results may differ.

It also works on 3G, you just have to side load the app and that's it. Cause it works just for me, i just backed up the apk for the Netflix app from my nexus 4g and installed it on my 7" SGT. The hulu plus app will install but still wont let me watch anything like I can on my phone.

And as for being surprised about the lack of chatter, that would be because THE MODERATORS STILL HAVEN'T MADE A SEPARATE TAB 10.1 PAGE HERE YET! People come here wanting to get some info, find that there's no Tab 10.1 one page, and move along. Come on guys, seriously. The thing has been released already.

There is a "non rooting" fix for Netflix on the VZW 4G version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
See it in the XDA Developers forum here:

I advise you root your galaxy tab 10.1. After that, using any root file editor, just edit a few lines in the device's "build.prop" file. Then reboot, install the Netflix app, and you're good to go.

I rooted my tab with Starburst + the 1.4 overclock. I've tried everything and can't get netflix to work. It either stays on the main screen with the spinning indicator, or it force closes. What lines do I need to alter in the "build.prop" file to get this to work. Is there a tutorial?

Any help is appreciated.
