Former iPhone 4 convert here.

Do you have have Facebook for HTC Sense account synced or not? I find having my account for Facebook and HTC Sense makes things confusing.

How do I set it so that my contact card has my facebook picture? I cant for the life of me get it to work...

Also is there an application like itunes that I install to manage my phone? How do I put Music and pictures into it?

Thanks guys :)

Hey! Hope you're enjoying your new Inspire! :)

1. I personally do not have my Facebook synced with Sense (or FriendStream). I'd much rather use the Facebook app. I find it slower at updating than the actual Facebook app.

2. Not sure about this. I would just save your Facebook pic to your phone and then click on the camera button within your contact card and set it as your Facebook pic.

3. You can always use the HTC Sync program, but I find it much easier to just make a Media > Music folder on the root directory of your SD card.

Hope this helps! :)

You can sync your itunes with your phone by downloading iTunesAgent onto the PC with your iTunes. It will create a playlist in your iTunes just for your phone. You drag all the music you want onto your phone and then just sync the phone using iTunes agent. Works great. Just google iTunes Agent. There are instructions on the site on how to use it. Very simple!

this is the main reason i got away from the iphone

any time you wanted to add or delete music, you had to go though itunes

now all you gotta do is hook up your phone to ANY computer and drop music into the music folder :D

I download alot of music and I like to shuffle music around. I got tired of having to open itunes and then drag the music into itunes.

and then the phone would try to sync when I didnt want it, etc

Wow! Is it really that simple? Where is the music folder and where can I get the HTC sense program?

All you need to do is hook your phone up to your pc with a usb, make sure usb storage is turned on and then your root folder of your SD card should pop up. Just make a "media" folder and then in that folder make a "music" folder and then throw all your music in there.

Not sure about the rest of your questions but it depends on what system is running on your pc. I have Windows XP and if I hook up my HTC Inspire to my computer and go to "My Computer" and then click on the drive that represents my phone. There is a folder that says "Music". Open that folder and then look over to the left of the screen, windows XP has a place to click to play all. It will automatically open Windows media player (or whatever your default player is I assume)and play your music from your phone on your computer speakers. If you want to add music to your phone from your PC then you will have to drag and drop the music. Not sure about itunes but using Windows Media Player you can sync your phone and drag music from your music library on your computer to a window on the right for your phone.
OR
when you go into "My Computer" on your pc and access the drive linked to your phone you can go into that music folder and click ONE time on the song you want or highlight several and then right click and choose "open with" and then choose itunes. If you leave the folder open in my computer then you can drag and drop music from itunes into that folder.

P.S. when you hook your phone up to your computer there is an app on your phone thats says something like "connect to my pc" you click on that and then click "disk drive", otherwise it will just charge your phone and you will not be able to access your music folder.

For some stinkin' reason, with the new update, it won't ever show up that i'm connected to the computer a side from showing that it's charging. Before Gingerbread, I was able to pull down from the top and choose where it would show it was charging. If I go to menu, settings, connect to a pc, and even change that nothing still. Help Please?

Have you tried restarting your computer? Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago and after a bunch of troubleshooting on the phone I realized that the computer needs to detect that a device has been attached before the phone will prompt to choose the connection type. In my case, something on the computer side was preventing it from detecting the phone and restarting the computer cleared it up. If you've restarted the computer and it still doesn't detect, you may want to make sure that it's detecting other usb devices. Try plugging in a flash drive or something just to make sure it's not an issue on the computer. Then you may want to install the latest HTC drivers. Not exactly sure if those are available as a separate download, but installing the latest version of HTC Sync will install the drivers. That's available on the HTC website.

Hope that works for you. Or at least puts you on the right path to fix it.

If you're interested, here's the link to my post when I this happened to me.
