I need to return my phone to Verizon due to the 14-day return policy but the Bionic won't be released until perhaps next week. I need to figure out what to do about the lack of a phone until then. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer not have to buy a phone full price just to return it when the Bionic is released.

I guess I always give the advice of using an old flip phone until it launches, which hopefully isn't more than a couple weeks away. If you have to have data, why not delve into a tablet? We love our 10.1, and it's fairly mobile. And, if you can still find one, grab a TouchPad; looks like its Android development is coming along.

My OG Droid died about 1 month ago. To give me time until the Bionic release I bought a used Droid X. it cost me $100 on Craigslist. It's great, and in fact so much of an improvement over by OG Droid that I'm content to now to wait until Oct for Samsung Prime news and to let the reviews on the Bionic shake out. It was my first used phone purchase and I was worried I might get ripped off, but there's lots of good advice on the web on the right way to check EIN's, etc. I had checked the EIN ahead of time on the Verizon website, but then actually activated the phone in my name before handing him the cash.

Return it. Go to costco or somewhere and get a smartphone that's free. I wouldn't suggest getting a featured phone because you don't want risking someone messing up your account and removing the unlimited data plan. It'll be just another headache for you trying to get it back.

If he goes to Costco he'd have to use an upgrade to get one of our free phones. We only deal with contracted, subsidized pricing. If he gets any new phone, he's gonna be paying full price, and even a basic flip phone costs $250-300. Still better than buying the Bionic at full price, though.

Oops, I must have misunderstood Vihzel's situation. I thought he was still on the 14 day return policy and if he returns it prior to the 14th day, his upgrade date would go back to it's initial state. So I thought he did have an upgrade to use.

Well I thought I was within my 14 day window but actually missed the day unfortunately. Ill just have to sell this one but at least now I can wait to hear more news about the Nexus Prime and see if its worth waiting for.

Awww that sucks. No matter what you would probably need to wait anyways unless you buy the phone full price. By that time, they'll probably be a Nexus Supremo or Nexus Maximus or Nexus Zeus. :p
