Root cm7 and Titanium backup keeps crashing

cm7 was looking good but I keep having force closes, and it is getting annoying. Titanium backup will not get past the licence check, even though I brought pro and I see it on my list of apps in norton utilities, but it will not go past that check. Very annoying and I am thinking of flashing back to 2.2, at least everything worked great that way and when I got rid of the bloat, I had tons of room. Seems my internal storage is jumping up again, and I have everything moved to the app.

Now my sd card is not partitioned, is this the problem and should I just move the contents of the sd card to my pc, partition the card, and then flash cm7 again?? I used ROM manager to do it, I am really new at all of this, less then a week, and I do not want to brick my phone!!

Thanks for the help, I wish I had someone here that could just fix all these problems for me, I get really worried that I will ruin the phone.

I also just got an email from google welcoming me to Nexus S, from samsung!! Have no idea why I got that one!!

I was having multiple issues too. Now I'm running BobZ's CM7 and all is well again.

And for the record, the Ascend isn't going to brick. It just doesn't, I've actually tried.

I honestly do think it is impossible to brick this phone. Ahaha

oh and no hate on PG's CM 7's great builds and all but my phone likes BobZ's builds better. But of course some peoples phones like PG's builds better then BobZ's. All are great builds its just Ascend's are bipolar or something. Ahaha It just depends on what your particular phone likes the most.

Is that on rom manager?? I am way too new to try and flash without it, scaredy cat that I am!!:eek:

When I'm home tonight and not on the phone, I'll throw up some links in this thread and tell you where to deviate from the guide.

Ok, first of all make sure all your contacts are backed up with your Google account. Then flash your phone according to Tokenpoke's ultimate ascend customization guide, but use BobZ's Lazy Ascend CM7 with this gapp file.

One point that was made was that lots of folks are having issues with Titanium Backup on CM7. I keep hearing about it over and over. It's never been much of an issue with me, but you might want to consider not using TB at all. After you've flashed and have synced up to your Google account, let the phone sit a good ten or fifteen minutes to settle in a bit. Reboot, wait just a few more minutes, then start downloading your apps fresh from the market instead of using TB. You can find these in the market in "My Library" or "My Market Account." You'll probably have much better luck with everything running straight.

Shiny Side helped walk me through a manual install instead of using ROM manager and boy, what a difference!! I will keep this one in my favorites so that if I have any issues, I will flash this rom. Seems to be working just fine now. You all rock here, really helped this newbie to phone flashing get everything working and a new lease on life with this phone. I was getting so tired of the old way that I almost wanted to go back to my old useless phone!!!

You have a beer on me!!!
