Best DUAL SIM android phone?

Has anyone got any idea where you can download the user manual for the v350......

must say my experience with the v350 is not as bad as will_wonka's, yes no ota's is annoying, v. annoying and w_w may be correct about the reason why but I haven't noticed any real lag with the interface or keyboard, both are normal on my phone. The screen is not great but I didn't expect it to be though I have to remember its 480 x 320 and really not a big issue. It functions fine and the touch response is very good i.e. on par with my SE Xperia Arc. Most phones are crap to read in sunlight except for the super omeled's.

Is it worth

That's quite useful. It's now on the wiki.

I noticed that it's possible to place someone "on hold" while making another call. That's pretty slick. Mentioned on page 26 of the manual.

Too bad there's no mention of 3-way calls.

Rule 16 in the safety instructions says: do not disassemble the ViewPad. I'm so glad it doesn't say "do not disassemble the v350"! It also does not forbid rooting the v350, which I was glad to see.

Thanks for sorting the manual out, I even looked at that website but somehow missed out.

The battery life is fine , not a problem considering the 2 sims on standby. I have my screen brightness at two thirds up and bluetooth on permanently along with wifi. Had worse on earlier htc's.

If I was you I'd hold off buying for a week to see if a real issue appears, so far there are just small things..

If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer.........

I will be interested to hear how expansys responds to your RMA, will_wonka. My V350 arrives Monday - they tried to deliver Saturday but I wasn't home.

I'll let you know how mine goes too. I refused delivery after Expansys issued an RMA. I then emailed them asking for further instructions since I could not attach the RMA to the package.

New bug discovered: v350 seems to have wiped out all SMS messages on one of the sims. This may not be a problem going forward, but just a warning to back them up, if needed, before inserting the sim.

P1rat3- RMAs are normally only needed if you ship them a package so that they know they have agreed to accept it. Normally if you refuse a package, then there's no need for authorization, as they can't possibly refuse it and have it go back out. And since the package was not tampered, they can expect the original packing slip to be in there, so they will know which order it was.

Yeah, I just got the same from Expansys. Phew. Refusing delivery was the right thing for me.

Here's what they emailed me -
We have notated the order to get you a refund when the device comes back

I am using the V350 for 3 days now and I mus say for me it is exellent! It even connects with my RNS315 (volkswagen)bluetooth carkit without any problem. Okay the usb cover could be better, the screen is hard to read with sunshine but real no further complains so far. I am using it for social networking, email, browsing, gps & some apps from android market etc. etc., Sim2 is my work-sim.

Hi Jeroen,

Does this phone support Dutch language?

Hi all,

I am quite dissapointed with reviews of V350 so far, I was really looking fourward. I am also afraid of reviews of GSMART G1310 and G1317, they seem also scaring.

Anyway what are the possibilities today?

I guess just two: Gigabyte or ViewSonic..

Users of V350 or G13%:

1. Do you think it is ready enough to use it for calling, messaging and 3G (I take into account all issues mentioned before)?

2. When I am using 3G data on primary SIM, is anybody able to call me on 2nd SIM (it is the desider)?

3. Is price 290EUR (20.9.2011) for V350 acceptable when comparing with GSMART series (actually 190 EUR for G1310 and 219 EUR for G1315)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I ordered my V350 from computeruniverse.net last saturday and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. I ordered it from that site because they should have it in stock and they deliver to Belgium.

I also read the negative reviews (before I ordered) but I'm hoping I'm in the same category as jeroensteijl. I'm not looking for a superdevice like a fast-big-top HTC smartphone, I'm just looking for a decent dual-sim smartphone. Hopefully I can live with the negative points, and it will turn out to be sufficient enough while I wait for a top dual-sim smartphone to hit the market.

I've just arrived from the shop... :) The Gsmart G1345 is in my hand!! It is on my desk in a fancy black box.
Now I just have to wait until my working day ends and running home to play with it. (I'm afraid I will not wait till 17:00 :) )
I will let you know about my experiences.

Wow that is very fast I was thinking about one or two weeks to get the phone.

We expect your impressions and your valuation. :)

My V350 arrived yesterday. After much deliberation, I decided to open up the box and try it out as opposed to sending it back unopened to Expansys or refusing delivery.

It must be said that I am not an experienced smart phone user. I do consider myself fairly adept with electronic gadgets and gizmos, but up until now I had been using a very old Motorola SLVR w/ just text and voice plan. The main reason I wanted a new phone was so that I could get dual sim functionality (previously I only had my work phone that I used for personal too as I didn't want two phones - but I hope to change jobs soon, so I figured separating work from personal numbers/activities would be wise!). Anyway, I feel this is important because I don't have experience with other current Android phones to compare the V350 to...

So on the V350 experience so far, I must say that I am overall pretty happy with it. I did experience a forced restart within 5 minutes of turning it on thanks to the 3D screens... so I turned them off and am just using the plain vanilla launcher, and haven't had an issue since then. I agree with others who comment that the hardware just can't keep up with the 3D graphics.

Other than that, things seem to be working pretty well. I put both sims in they are working, had no issues getting my Google and Hotmal email accounts all set up, imported contacts no problem, and everything is running fairly smooth.

I have a couple of concerns that I am watching over the next few days to see how they play out:

- I am not getting great reception at work on Sim 1, while Sim 2 is nice and strong. This may be due to Sim 1 being TMobile and Sim 2 being AT&T, but we shall see. Since Sim 1 is my personal/data sim, might not be a big deal if the same situation is not present at home and while out around town.

- I am having a problem calling my TMobile voicemail. For some reason the call won't go through. I was able to set it up successfully last night... but since then, haven't been able to connect to it.

I will continue to update on my progress with the V350. Please keep in mind that I am not the most discerning smartphone user in terms of speed and graphics since I don't have anything to compare it to...
