Help Voicemail notification won't go away

I've seen this mentioned on other phone forums, but specific to this device. I suspect it was Hullomail that screwed something up, seems there's just no decent way to do voicemail on VM...

Anyway, I've tried checking the voicemail a bunch of a times, rebooting, pulling the battery, it keeps saying I have a new voicemail, and it's even updating the time the alleged phantom message was left.

Any ideas how to make it go away?

Try a factory reset with format /system, backup data if you want, make sure before the backup to not have any voicemail replacements installed. See if the it works before restoring data.

I had this once. The voicemail notification stayed there until I got another voicemail and listened to it.

Call yourself and leave a message. Erase it.
