Who is running virus protection and why would you even need it?

That one looks interesting. I just added LBE Privacy Guard which also looks good, I already have Zoner AV. Were do you draw the line? They all "seem to" do kind of the same thing... prevent bad stuff from getting into your phone. I would think anything that continually checks for things would drain your battery.

There have been virus's in the past from apps on the market.
I like my "V" and use Kinetoo. The reason is clear if you check the app out on the market.

I get great battery off charge times with this app.

I don't use any virus protection and I surf the net all the time and I've had no problems what so ever.
This phone has a lynx OS so web browsing is not the problem. The problem is in the past hackers figured out that although they couldn't give you a virus thru the web, they could sneak one in on an app. Which is why the virus protection for Android phones really only scan downloaded apps for viruses.
