The HTC Incredible is the Supersonic

...and its going to Verizon. The 4.3 screen for the Superonic (on the left) was only a rumor, no shots of it in someones hand to confirm. Plus, Sprint and Verizon would not be releasing phones that look identical. The Eris and Hero do not look alike. So where does this leave Sprint?

exactly, they dont look alike, but are in essence the exact same phone, the supersonic to sprint, the incredible or whatever to verizon

I noticed, and someone else mentioned in another thread, that that pic with the phone is really TWO DIFFERENT phones. Look at the buttons on the bottom.

Open your eyes dude. They have the SAME BUTTON LAYOUT and the buttons look EXACTLY the same. Are you seriously that blind?

Verizon and Sprint are not going to have two phones shaped the same, with all the buttons in the same place and with the same icons. Anyone with half a brain can see they are exactly the same.

Similar phones but different. They're made by the same company so it's pretty safe to assume that they would look similar. They look just like the Eris with the trackball and send/end buttons cut off.

Plus, Sprint and Verizon would not be releasing phones that look identical.

The Palm Pre for Sprint and the Palm Pre Plus for Verizon are practically the same and certainly look identical.

We arent talking about BB and WinMo are we? Name me two HTC android devices that look exactly alike on different carriers. The GSM and CDMA Hero dont even look alike and they have the SAME NAME The G1 looks nothing like the My touch and the Eris looks nothing like the Hero.

The photo on the left is older and could have very well been an early production model that they made a slight change to. Aside from no circles around the keys, its the same phone in both pics.

Who cares if two similar looking Android phones haven't been released on different carriers yet...does that mean that it's impossible? Android's been out a little over a year and we're just now seeing a lot of Android phones being produced. It's VERY likely that they would re-use a similar design. I'm not saying they don't look similar but they are by no means identical. Again, just open your eyes and look at the photos...it really is that easy.

I probably shouldn't get involved here in this "discussion", but I think the buttons are obvioulsy more centered verticly between the screen and the edge of the phone on the picture on the left. On the right picture, they seem to be closer to the screen.

the phones arent the same but are close, the hero and the eris are different in the shell, but the phone is exactly the same

The one on the left has a wider earpiece grille, almost twice as wide as the one on the right. The one on the left has a little round mouthpiece, while the one on the left doesn't. The one on the left has rocker buttons on the right, the one on the left has them on the left. The one on the right has the buttons closer to the screen than the one on the left.

Such simple differences show it's clearly a different body, likely the way the Eris is just that slight bit different than the Hero.

Duly noted. I think the one on the left is a few months old and was a demo version of what the one on the right is now. The same way the first build of a car will almost always differ from the production model thats released. I just cant see HTC releasing two identical phones for separate carriers when they never have before. Even if the phones have the same shape and same buttons (which even that is rare), they are shaped differently and put in different places from the others.

Those are CLEARLY two different phones. One has thin white circles around each of the four buttons' icons, one doesn't. One has a large amount of oven space below the buttons with a track ball or notification light or something...the other doesn't. My girlfriend's CAT took a look at these and was able to distingguish between the phones.

it would actually be good business practice to build the same exact phone for multiple carriers. For one thing, it makes it a LOT cheaper to manufacture a phone for each carrier.
