Hi guys
My first language is english and I am learning Italian so read italian websites. I want to be able to highlight individual words I do not understand and look for a translation. Works great using lingoes on my laptop. On my new tab I cannot even get to highlight a word in the browser.
Any help with whole or part of problem much appreciated.

Here's what works for me (though it's cumbersome). Using the stock browser, press and hold on the word you want translated. Some brackets should pop up to help you highlight. Adjust it if you need to translate a whole paragraph.

Then, in the right top corner, there is a settings button (looks like three lines in a row). Click that and do a web search. A window might pop up asking you for the default - I set it to Google.

Once it is in Google, click Translate (instead of Web, Images, etc). It should send you to Google Translate with the phrase.

I can't tell you if there are any easier ways as I don't often use it. On my computer, before Firefox 6 update, I used Babelfish extension which was really good for on the fly translations.

Can you give us a more detailed explanation how you did that?

Download Moonreader (free) and golden dict (free) from android market.
Golden Dict is dictionary software but does not contain the actual dictionary I wanted (italian-english and english-italian) but it is compatible with a whole load of dictionaries including lingoes ones. I downloaded the Vicron english-italian and italian english from the lingoes site.
When you are setting up the dictionary on Moonreader choose colordict 3.
When you highlight a word by long touch you get an almost instantaneous translation.
Love it
