In order to group people from facebook without them beeing linked to google there is a few things you have to do. (Please correct me if im wrong)

The only way I figured out how to do it, was to link the facebook account with a phone contact. MIND: You cannot merge sim contacts with facebook contacts, you have to import them to your phone.

And bearing this in mind, the android opertuneties I get to solve this, is actually contradicting them selves, I actually have to export my facebook contacts to my sim card(its not possible to export them to the phone), then I have to import them again from the sim card onto the phone, from here they are automaticly linked and will show up in the "add people to group" option.

There must be an easier way?

EDIT: Uponp double checking, it seemes I cannot even do this "world wide" I have to enter each single contact and copy it to the sim. I can only export "all" to my sd memory...

2. Edit: I just recieved a phone number on an sms, and I wanted to add the number to a facebook contact, neither of the fb contacts appear...

You cant edit Facebook contacts because that data there is not yours. The phone just retrieves the information from your contact's Facebook page. For example, if I were your Facebook contact, you have no ability to edit my Facebook info from your PC. Much more you cannot edit my info from your phone. The Facebook contacts on your phone is just the same thing as looking at a person's Facebook profile from your PC browser, you can look but not change.

Just add a new contact with only the person's name and merge the Facebook contact with that.

Well it would be possible tho? I mean why not? Im not saying it should modify the facebook site, just my phone's relationship with the contacts...

Also, "just add"? What If I have 80 contacts which would need my attention in order to group them? Its a simple task for a computer, it should be able to be done automated...

Its not about modifying the site, a Facebook contact on your phone is just cached information from your friend's Facebook site. Its like saved website on your PC to be able to view it offline, and thus unmodifiable. Its whole purpose is only to show you the Facebook details of your friend.

The second problem is that you are using SIM contacts, because on smartphones, using SIM contacts is actually a source of more problems than not. Your contacts should be on Gmail/Google. I havent actually even used my SIM to save contacts for over 5 years now.

Also modifying 80 contacts and a few hundred from SIM is easy for grouping. Export ALL to SD card, then import ALL to your Google. The facebook contacts you have would then be merged to your new Google contacts with the same names (this is dont automatically by the phone on mine). You can edit the Google Contacts to your liking too.

You can also do the grouping easier by going to Gmail on your PC and grouping and editing them there.
