Cyanogenmod 7.1 poor Camera PQ!?

Hi guys, I loaded this rom and i do love it but why is the camera quality so poor? I put it on 8mp and its equivalent to 2-3mp tops...

I do like the rom and want to keep using it, but i keep going back to lightning rom 6.1 with 2.1.3 ninphetimine kernel, cause its fast, camera quality is normal, and battery.

But i do wanna stick with CM 7.1 but wanna know how i can fix the camera issue if it is even fixable?

I'm afraid that it is a problem with CM7 I'm afraid. The camera function is pretty basic. It's just one of the issues that prevents me using CM7 for everyday use. Cyanogen are working on this and other issues but it will take time.

If you want to use CM7 you could download the excellent Vignette camera from the Market.

Yeah i thought that might be the case! hopefully in CM 8.0 or maybe sooner it will be 100% quality.. which would be great!!!

I tried that app didnt like it, so ive reverted back to lightning rom for now, but trying some other ones in the process. being a real rom whore the past 2 days lol

What is the lockscreen program CM 7.1 uses? I like the unlock button that u just push down..... any ideas? Was like a big bar that u just push downwards was a thick button

Its possible to use the miui camera on cm7 which will make a big improvement. I had a look around and found loads of threads containing links to the apk and zip files so I wasn't really sure which was the latest. Maybe someone here who's running miui will know which ones the best to go for.

Miui camera is by far better than the CM7 and stock Samsung camera. See my thread for sample shots I did with each. The macro is N8 quality with the Miui camera.

I'm not sure it is possible to get the miui camera on a non-miui rom. Haven't seen any development around this.

Yeah I got the miui camera working on cm7 but it was an old version and to be honest wasn't much of an improvement. So I don't see why it won't be possible to use the camera from the new miui rom.

I had the same problem with my AT&T SGH I7777 and after reading a lot of stuff I downloaded the paid version of FX Camera and it put my camera back to where it was before when it took great pictures. There were so many positives on this software like Endgadget I got the paid version up front. I couldn't be more pleased. No yellow tint, low light or fuzzy pictures. I hope this helps!!
