Newbie
has the android market been updated? my wife has a htc desire the original one and i have a sensation but when you go to the market place on my wifes phone you get what looks to be a new version but on my sensation it just looks the same as it always has why is this?
 
if it should have been rolled out to all does that mean mine should have just updated automatically or do i need to do something to get it?
 
It was an automatic update on both my wifes Epic and my Evo. The fragmented nature of Android makes it possible that your provider or HTC hasn't pushed the update (yet?).

I'm going to move this to the sensation section in hope that it finds you a better answer.
 
well it shouldn't be as they are both htc and we are both on vodafone uk so surely if it was the provider it would be both of us without it?
 
I've been wondering about this for a while now. My onld desire had the new market whcih is so much better imo. So i've no idea why my new handset doesnt. Both were/are on orange...
 
just spoke to my mate and his wife he has a sensation and she has a desire hd both on orange/tmobile and neither of them have it either?
 
My unbranded Sensation also did not update. So I used an apk I found at XDA to update about a month ago, which worked just fine. I guess it is the same one as in the link earlier in this thread (but have no way of knowing for sure).

I sent Google an e-mail yesterday enquiring about the Android Market update for the HTC Sensation. They got back to me pretty quickly and stated that they are presently investigating the issue and that they'll update me as soon as they have more information.

So I'll keep you all posted!
 
Hi

Done the update manually yesterday via APK and after using it am very dissappointed and much prefer the old version. Does anybody know how I can get back to 2.3.6 ????

I've just turned on my old HTC Desire and it updated to the new Market. But like others, my newer HTC Sensation (both on Orange UK) is still using the older 'green' one. The APK link seems to have expired and I don't get the apk to download anywhere, is there an updated link?

I have the same problem. My three workmates have updated on their desires and galaxy s2, but my sensation is still looking old skool!
 
Just had another email back from Google. They said that at the moment they do not have a projected timeline for when the issue will be resolved. However, they assured me that they are working hard to find a solution and will keep me updated.

I'll let you know of any updates!

Not as far as I can see. I have the new market on my Sensation running Sense 3.0 without any problems. Got the apk from a post on XDA ages ago - I suggest a search over there.
 
Not sure that is the latest version. It is 3.1.3 whereas mine is 3.1.5. Not sure what is different though
 
This annoys me. We shouldn't have to manually download and install the update. It should come through automatically. If it doesn't, then it surely means something is wrong and if this is the case there must be a solution or explanation. Am I wrong?
