Hi, so I have a problem with the Twitter app, it works OK in the 3G network and in some WIFI networks, the only problem is when I get home and use my home WIFI, the twitter app seems to have trouble connecting or something but it wont refresh or I can't eve sign in. Have any of you had that problem before? Any ideas why this could be?
I'm having a nearly identical problem. On my home wifi, I almost always can't use twitter apps on my Android device. Some days it'll work like a charm - but that's maybe... 2 days a week. When having trouble, I can do anything else I want. Netflix, anything in the browser (even Twitter), Facebook app/browser, etc. You name it - it works. Except Twitter apps.
As soon as I switch to 3G, I'm good to go. On any other wifi network, no problem.
More details:
- I typically use Tweetdeck. Tonight while having the problem, I installed every decent twitter app in the market (Twitter, Plume, Twicca, Seesmic, Hootsuite, etc...) and none of them would even authenticate, much less load tweets.
- My wireless router is a Linksys WRT160n, and I run DD-WRT on it. I have a rule set in the DHCP config to always assign my phone the same IP address.
- My wife's phone never has this problem. Both devices are rooted and running custom ROMs. Her device is currently the HTC Thunderbolt running CM7. My current device is the Galaxy Nexus and I'm running an AOKP ICS ROM. This problem has persisted through multiple devices and ROMs - Nexus One, HTC Incredible, Motorola Droid... and all sorts of ROMs - CM6/7, AOKP, GummyNex, as well as stock ROMs on all of the mentioned devices.
- I had this problem on the Thunderbolt when it was mine. I got the Galaxy Nexus and gave my wife the Thunderbolt and she never has the problem.
I'm sure there are more details / troubleshooting steps I've taken, but I can't think of them right now, and I'm sure you're tired of reading this by now. I was just super excited to find someone else with the same issue, but was sad that the thread seemed abandoned without a resolution.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
