Ok, step back from the edge......

I went to get coffee an check the rest room for operational efficiency at Caribou Coffee next door. Saw a regular Fed Ex truck come and go.

The manger here is known to be a follow the rules guy. when ian went in he was playing greeter. Kinda busy on the fruit area today. When he had a greeter lull I asked about the trucks coming and going and directly asked, if he had nex in the back now.

He swore that the the trucks were his normal Friday deliveries and they had been told nothing of the nex.

He seemed either uncomfortable or irritated with my interrogation. But no clear clues as to flat out lying our not.

My regular sales guy is not here yet.I am gonna call him and ask him to check it out for me.

Will report with any additional info.

Sorry there is no real news here.

Thank you

I read the bold part as "Taste". Then I thought, oh, it's OTD, so it's ok.;)

You know, as far as this "silent launch" with no major marketing hype - it's a perfect situation for Verizon. Think about it...they have all of these salivating techies waiting in the wings to buy this phone - BETA TESTERS! We're the ones willing to put up with a few annoyances, have the know-how to work around the issues, and most importantly for big red, report them with a level of acceptance that the software might not yet be perfect. Let us work out all the bugs, push an OTA update, then start appealing to the masses for the holidays.

That's exactly what they did with the DInc [minus the holiday market timing]. That this is a planned VZW strategy is doubtful at best.

In the DInc case, they had been and continued to spend massively on Droid branding and Moto phone promotions. They had no frikin idea what they had with the DInc, and were completely unprepared for the demand it generated. It took months to recover to a point where you could actually walk in and buy a DInc in a VZW store. At the time, they 'strategically' leaked stories about HTC production problems [especially screens] to the press as cover. The other side of that story was that VZW had no volume commitments signed with HTC, so rather than ramping production ahead of the launch they were stuck with trying to deal with a step function demand from a standing start.

Samsung are larger than HTS were back then, but it certainly looks as if VZW are no smarter about preparing to launch what is looking like a market leading product. Be prepared for stock shortages soon after the genpop realizes how good the GNex is.

WANT FONE NOW!!!!!

Seriously, I need to study for my MCATs on my lunch breaks at work, and I can't freaking concentrate because I'm too busy refreshing my "Galaxy Nexus" Google News search. This needs to come out now, while I still have a career left!

You could do like I did... 6-pack, pizza and watch The Great Texas Dynamite Chase. Got the 2nd highest score in the nation. Of course that was a year or thirty ago.

I doubt the production problems were rumors. There's a reason the first Dinc's had an amoled screen, and the later versions got SLCD.

Ok, I shouldn't really have to say this and I honestly hope nobody would do anything, but I'll go ahead and say it anyway.
