Best Android Phone for Verizon in Spring 2012

...if they had an idea of what was coming out in February 2012 that would be amazing. Probably half the stuff we'll see by then hasn't even been thought of yet...

I beg to differ. Knowing Verizon, they're probably already testing what will be released by this time next year. The problem is, we probably won't know for another 8 months what they decide to scrap, revise, or rework. Rest assured, your dual core, 1GHz phone, WVGA phone will be well tested and certified for release come Feb 2012, and it'll probably still have a dozen "issues" in the first two weeks. :D

Before I got my original Droid X, I was keeping track of its development and testing on another forum for months before it came out, back when it was going to be called the Shadow. For the life of me though I do not remember what the forum was called. I am now trying to find that forum again to see what is being worked on as I am also due next spring. If anyone knows which site this was, please post it here.
Thanks,
Chad

Knowing Verizon they've just signed another contract with Apple to keep Verizon from adding any decent 4G phones the rest of 2011...thus we will continue to have an onslaught of 3G phones while other carriers continue to add great 4G phones.

huh? that makes no sense... I have 6 4g phones sitting here in front of me in my store right now...one is getting released tomorrow (razr) and another one on the 14th (HTC Rezound). Are you lost in the vzw forum? did you mean to go to sprint or att?

Did you happen to notice that post you quoted is 5 months old?

doesnt matter, it still doesn't make any sense does it? Nope it doesnt.

And cruckus, I don't know of anything specifically. Honestly, sites like engadget and other tech sites are the best for that info, they don't tell us anything here until right before release. Another HTC phone was just outed a few days ago, quad core and all that stuff...the vivid or something along those lines maybe? Don't remember the actual name but it was on engadget.

Honestly, if your happy with you phone, ride it till it dies. no reason to upgrade if you are happy with what you have. Is there a specific feature you are looking for in the new phones...?

The point I'm trying to make is at the time that post was made there were only two 4g phones out the Thunderbolt and the Charge. To quote a post 5 months old saying you have six 4g phones sitting in front of you and then saying how they must of been lost in the verizon forum is what doesn't make sense.

I'd guess the hot rumor in Feb 2012 will be a quad core with the next gen radios- LTE, CDMA, and GSM in one tasty package... I don't see much/any need for more resolution than the Rezound has now...

My guess is this quality screen will be more mainstream, and people will be playing off of the smaller manufacturing process to optimize battery life. We may finally get some decent price competition, because I think we're finally reaching the point where all the hardware is so capable suppliers are going to be looking for other things to differentiate the user experience.

The other thing I think you'll start seeing by then is some android catch-up with apple on the user-friendliness: Something more Siri-like, for example. The Rezounds unlock screen is great, but begs for more than 4 unlock app options...

There's a board-level waterproofing treatment coming, too, I'll betcha. That'll rock when these damn things can get wet without crapping out.

2Q12 is going to be a nice time to be looking for a phone, I bet. 3Q will suck, just like this year, as everyone looks towards the holiday release dates again.

That's what my crystal ball says, anyway. ;-)
