This phone could have 8 gigs and I'd still get it. I only use about 2 or 3 on my 32gb card in my thunderbolt

16gb without SD card will be a huge drawback - however I am just looking at it as another reason to start using cloud storage more...
32gb will be perfectly fine for me, however, if that is what Verizon goes with. I really hope they do.
Now I can go to bed tonight with a smile on my face and with hope that it will still release next week! This article is somewhat encouraging, they go on to say that they have an inside source that says it is still on schedule and will be available this month...http://popherald.com/galaxy-nexus-verizon-release-date-on-december-8/news/2011/11/19
I,m 46 and watched the first one in 1977, I still have all my figures, two cases of them. I remember showing my 5 yr old in 96 star wars for the first time and it was so much fun watching his face. He is a star wars nut like I am.
I guess I'm missing something but what is it with the name that everyone seems to hate?
Poll: who hear thinks we'll hear anything before Thanksgiving.....
Alright gang. 7am golf in the morning, so, I'm out until around noon tomorrow. I expect good news, rainbows, unicorns and some singing of kumbaya when I return.
We need a poll thread. See who believes in which dates. would be pretty interesting
You did not mis a thing.
First, Star Wars is badass! My 3 year old was Darth Vader for Halloween.
I just want to say that I am getting this phone just because it is a Nexus. That's it, I would be ok with hanging on to my DX for the foreseeable future. But, the idea of a phone updated when the update actually rolls out, well, that appeals to me. I was really wanting a Nexus 1, but I gave up hope on a Nexus after VZW passed it up (if that's how it went down). I didn't even bother looking for a Nexus S on VZW. I knew they wouldn't have it.
The Nexus phones have the allure of the "pure Google experience", I hope that stays true. I'm not an uber-geek, but I have waited long for updates on my Droid Eris and then my Droid X (bought on ebay, btw) for long periods of time. Don't get me wrong, the phones still functioned well (at least the DX) , but I knew there was an update to android that I didn't have.
Well, my heart actually sped up when I heard (read) that VZW was getting the Nexus. And an exclusive! That's pretty damn cool.
I'm waiting. Hopefully it will be 11/21, but if not, I will wait for it. I don't need a phone. I don't even want a phone. But, I do want a Nexus.
I WANT MY NEXUS.
Motorola Nexus would be pure, distilled Awesome.
Except for the camera.
And screen.
Vanilla Blur will be sweet
And encrypted bootloader
Dang I was ninjad 4-5 times lol. Typing on Inc one handed is gettimg old
Anyone have a kindle fire my wife wants one the videos I've seen look laggy.
Hey guys, just posting to let you all know that I'm taking a break (or possibly leaving this thread entirely) for quite a while, it's become all-consuming and I've grown tired of reading through all these posts with no news. When the news breaks I will be back, and I'll check the title of the thread periodically for any updates, but until then cya guys! It was fun interacting with members in this thread
Hey do you train? I used to go to Performance Gracie Academy in Fair Lawn NJ. Did BJJ and Muay Thai for awhile over there, good times.
Idk I'm probably in the minority, but this delay is going to make it that much better when I get it in hand. Might even be somewhat euphoric
i agree completely. i have an Incredible 2 as well and Hans couldnt be more on point with his points. my OG Droid def had better battery life. but the Incredible 2 has been a good phone. Nexus will be my first 4G phone. cant wait.
I know its probably been addressed but is there a 4G on/off switch on the Nexus?
Most Likely a Non Rent.Getting it or renting it...?
Yeah same for me if the Verizon G-Nex is 16gb im going to the Rezound. Sadly we wont know until verizon either announces it or it starts to arrive at stores. If the 16gb thing ends up being true, I'm right behind you. The problem is that we likely can't know until the stinkin' Gnex is already out!!!
It's a nice phone. I would be very happy with it if the Nexus wasn't an option. All phones have little issues that we have to live with. But keep in mind all of Verizon's newly listed phones have 5 stars initially.
The only thing I can see being a problem for me regarding storage is HD movies. I know I will want to utilize that big beautiful display for movies on the go. 16GB or even 32GB won't hold very many 720p HD video files.
I plan on utilizing USB OTG and Flash drives. I have already purchased an adapter cable for this purpose. I have also purchased an MHL cable as well. The only problem is I'll have to transfer any movies I want to watch to the internal storage before using MHL. A small inconvenience, but I'll live.
completely forgot about usb otg so between that and dropbox possibly a wifi hard drive i'm good

LOL BB that was one hell of a multi-quote
That's how Im feeling. I probably wouldn't go for a 16gb priced at $299 but, with an upgrade and a buy back ($350 with the best but program for my 5month old charge) I shouldn't be paying anything out of pocket for this phone. If the 16gb is $199 or $250 I still might get it and spend the rest what's left on accessories.
Lol. Told ya I was going to catch up when I got home.
So I've now seen lots of talk about going to Best Buy. My question is, if I go do I get to keep my unlimited data and everything else?
i thanked the owner post earlier today, but haven't been back on since...have I missed much?
I haven't seen the charging station/multimedia dock anywhere online, so I'll wait on that, but i want to pick up a screen protector before I get the phone so I can have it ready.
I've haven't been using one on my droid 2, but I've had decent ones from ebay and also ones that were so terrible they weren't even usable. Which screen protector do people generally go with?
No, that's backward. A cardless GNex can't have its filesystem directly mounted by a PC or Mac, but it definitely can use its USB host mode to connect to a USB flash drive (with a suitable cable).I was said today that it won't work on the Nexus. Only phones with cards can utilize USB. A lot of technical blah blah about internal mem phones not able to do that, like the tablets without cards. Sorry.
