Can you get beats audio quality in Thunderbolt?

I have heard from a verizon associate that you can install a custom ROM or install an .APK that will allow you to fully utilize beats audio (if you have the earphones) on your Thunderbolt, which would rival the audio quality of the HTC Rezound.

Would anyone know if this is true? If so it would be a great gift to my wife (customize her phone, she loves her music).

Thanks in advance for any info, i'll keep searching myself!

Beats are a gimmick. It is all about the dac/chip used in the rezound. Beats are also over-priced. Buy a pair of monster turbines or a bassy headphone. Problem solved.

I wouldn't waste your time with beats. They are decent IEMs and Headphones, that are blown away by headphones of equal price.

If you want it for eq, ok. I'm cool with that. :)

From what Ive read, the thunderbolt and phones without beats built in cannot actually give you beats audio. You need the phone to have it pre-installed. also as stated above, beats is a gimmick to make cash. Buy good quality headphones and you will really enjoy the sound and will see that beats is no big deal..

As a well known song once said Don't, Don't, Don't Believe The Hype....

I dont think this will fix the shitty sound the actual speaker in the phone puts out, that shit stinks. Added volume plus, but still have trouble hearing talk radio over the drones of refrigeration equipment at my shop.

Well, yeah, thhat speaker sucks. lol. Nothing can fix that with the current hardware in place. With headphones though, the difference is massive. Heres a quote from someone that runs Eternity and had the chance to put it head to head with the Rezound. This should kill all speculation on there being something different hardware wise.

I agree. These free headphones included for free with the rezound are overpriced. Wtf is htc thinking? I wanted to pay a cheap price for these. Not get them for free. OVERPRICED

I'm glad you missed the point of my post. Beats has a whole line of headphones.

Point being: people are being ripped off being given something for free. I'm a little pissed about this myself. If they wouldn't have included them in the box we'd be fine. But they just have to shove crappy headphones in the box to make me look at them? Ah. Sickening

I have to be honest as I own a pair of Tours...they are extremely overpriced and are a fashion accessory not high end audio equipment. The embedded Beats in HTC phones is nothing more than a gimmick (EQ tweaks), one that will be quite successful, IMO. I have to tip my hat to Iovine and Dre, though, they saw an opportunity and turned it into a 300 million a YEAR business.

You TOTALLY missed his point however.

I'm not talking about beats that come with the rezound. if i had typed that. I apologize as that was not my intention. I was simply informing people not to waste their time with beats products as there are much better out there for equal or lesser the value. In the OP case - the software.

My comment was towards the OPs comment about software making the TB have Rezound sound quality. Thus my dac/audio chip comment. My second comment about buying Turbines was towards the EQ settings of beats. Beats EQ settings are skewed for Bass and probably have the treble rolled off to accentuate bass. Buying bassy IEM/Headphone would eliminate need to constantly EQ songs and remove the need for EQing bass.

If he wants to quote me and sarcastically mock me for talking about Beats products - NOT the beat IEMs that come with the rezound...I don't see why his viewpoint matters, since I'm not talking about free head phones. I suppose he misunderstood what I was getting at?

If you like free stuff, great for you. Free doesn't and usually never means quality in marketing. It's free for a reason.

Beats actually surprised me when used with the Beats eq setting on the Rezound. They did a good job of matching the earphones' strengths with the EQ settings. When I use the Beats earphones with a regular MP3 player, the bass sounds artificially loud and hollow. A lot of Rezound guys are looking to sell their Beats earphones because they think the earphones are garbage so you may want to look online for some Beats earphones selling cheap. I know I'm holding onto mine considering how much better they sound with the Beats EQ setting.

Get some decent skullcandys and use a rom with DSP and it be better than anything "BEATS" and don't waste waste your money on Bose either. just imo

The way I see it, you have a phone that has better hardware on paper than the Razr, and they included some decent headphones (someone mentioned the Monster Turbines but the Beats are actually made by Monster so I doubt there's a vast difference between the two) for the same price as the Razr. I'd say it's not a terrible deal, and I'd say those that are knocking the headphones without having ever heard them in person will be surprised at how the two actually work together.

So basically don't knock it until you try it.

After reading some reviews of the Rezound many reviewers have said the beats headphones were the best free headphones they have ever received with a phone and now most phones don't come with accessories, well the purple HTC phone comes with a light thing or something.
