***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I've read wayyyy too much of this thread to never post in it, so...

I was using a BlackBerry Tour up until April or so when I got so frustrated with the trackball sticking that I bought a used Droid on eBay. I knew there were much better phones available, but I decided to get it since it was cheap (and I knew I wouldn't have it for a long time) and it wasn't locked down. Since then I've been waiting for another Android phone that gave me the ability to do what I want with it and was instantly sold on the Galaxy Nexus. I just wish the damn thing would be released already...

Anyways, I have a few questions.

  1. I'm on a family plan with Verizon, but my line is not the primary number. Both lines are eligible for an upgrade, but the primary line also has a $100 credit on it. Do you think Verizon will allow me to use that credit to upgrade my line? My name is listed as an account manager so I don't think that should be an issue. The website would have allowed me to swap upgrades before, but that's no longer an option since both are upgradable.

  2. If Verizon does allow us to pre-order, is it possible to do that over the phone? I would rather unbox it myself but I know if I order online there's no way I can use that $100 credit.

  3. I guess nobody can really answer without getting an LTE model, but what are the best cases for this phone? Ideally I would get a hard, very thin case that would be mostly used to protect against scratches. I definitely don't want anything bulky -- one of my co-workers just got an iPhone 4S and has a case that makes it like two inches thick which is pretty ridiculous.

  4. Are there any screen protectors that allow you to remove/re-apply them easily? I had one on my BlackBerry that I put on a little bit crooked and it always drove me crazy.

Thanks!

P.S. I'm glad the scottyg on this forum isn't a pain. There was one with a similar username on another forum I visit that made me borderline homicidal. ;)

Which reminds me... whatever happened to that BB employee who told us of the "do not open before 11/21" box? :p

Yeah, what did happen to that? Was it Nexus related? And what happened to the guy who had 50 SGN's coming to the nearby store?

So many things get read and forgotten, I'm sure the answers were already posted, but I don't know.

I have to agree with the BFFPL. :D
I hope he reciprocates with corny romance. I hope to have that one day.
hell, I'd settle for a stalker ish guy to leave me flowers some days. Lol.

What is BFFPL?

I caved and got the htc device for 50$ oh well I have 90 days to return it right haha so if the galaxy nexus is really giving me buyers remorse ill go ahead and buy it but I just dropped 280 on a ps3 and uncharted 3 and bf3 so idk

Well, remember that you lose your upgrade after 14 days. So if you return it after 60 days, you'll get your $50 back, but then you'd have to cough up the other ~$550 for the non-subsidized price of the SGN if you decide to go that way.

Us too. You are not alone!

If you're on as account manager then you can pretty much use the account as if it were yours.

    Yes, it usually is

My opinion is to wait until its out and more cases are available.

It was not Nexus related. And the shipment was not of Nexi. Lol.

I am 80/20 right now on in store over pre-order. I can't guarantee having someone home to sign for it on the day of delivery, but I know that my usual sales guy has offered to put one aside for me on launch day.

I would hate to have my phone sitting overnight in the carrier depot if we missed delivery.
Have them deliver to your work place instead. :D

Oh. Sheesh reading all these code words makes me feel like I'm 70, and I'm just turning 32 in a couple of months.

And so you want someone to stalk you? Like crazy stalking? Leaving rose petals on your bed and hiding in your closet until you're asleep, and then he comes out and stands over you and watches?

That's not a good desire to have, sorry. That can backfire big time.

Stopped by the corporate store tonight to fondle the RRzzz. Sales rep approaches and I ask about the GN. She says she has plenty of accessories she can sell me, of course I follow up with... "what about the phone to go with it?" No dice. The store manager comes over eventually and I ask about the GN he plays dumb. I pull out the, how about the accessories you have had for weeks. From that point on he could not look me in the eye when he talked. He was so uncomfortable I changed the subject for him.

Long story short, I found out that accessories are in stock locally and I still refuse to do business at the local corp store due to the amazing management.

HA! Ha! I don't think she was looking for all that. That was quite a detailed description by the way Han. Hmm... :p;)

Right, but someone said that a corporate store manager told him he received confirmation that 50 SGNs were on their way to him and would get there Tuesday. Don't remember who said it, but whatever happened to that??:thinking:

It was I. Turns out the guy never actually had a ship date, he was only told his store would be getting that many.

Really? My frequent immature rants and pictures of cartoons made you think I was older? :p

Okay. Secret admirer, got it. A guy calls you up, whispers (so he doesn't give his identity away) sweet nothings in your ear while he watches you perched atop a tree outside your window, which you can't see because you've got the lights on and the reflection blocks out anything outside.

Gotcha.

Please, BB, be careful. I feel that you might not be fully aware of the dangers in the world.
