***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

So, who do you think wants this phone released more at this point? Us, or the CSRs so they can stop answering questions about the Nexus?

Probably us. You might be surprised, but I have heard from several store managers that they only get a few questions about the nexus each day. Not sure how this translates to csrs, but doubt it's much different.

I couldn't have said it better so I quoted it.
Thank you Steven and your source. I would thank you myself in PM but I hope you read this and at least smile!

Heh.. PM thanks are better than the PM complaints any day. On the way to hospital for my "procedure" yesterday morning, I was very, very nervous. On my smartphone, I got notice: 4 PM's from Android Forums! Oh boy! More news?

No.. Four complaints..some accusatory. Not what I need along the way to the hospital. I put them off. :p

Sorry to be a brat, but 9 pages have occurred since I went to work.

Has anything actually happened? :)

We got info from The Source, and from Han's sister, both via Steven. Caused a bit of a panic, but mostly comes down to Verizon is discussing what happens if bugs aren't resolved and they have to slip phone to 2012, thereby breaking their commitment in the GNex announcement Press Release. Also there is some disagreement about how the phone progression to release has occured among the higher ups, but no details. Steven suggested (as his own theory) there might be an internal struggle over whether to just release the phone already, and fix the bugs later, or go ahead and hold it until everything is good to go.

If you're sticking with T-Mobile, you could always import. That way you can still get the GNex.

I almost did that last night. I'm going to wait and see if T-Mobile does still work at the new house, and then I may order one from Clove UK. At this rate though, I may watch to see which other phones become available in the next few months.

Good for you! You didn't need that going in for a procedure. And IMO they are probably unwarranted anyway. :D

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but those of you asking store managers and CSRs for release information aren't going to having any better information than is floating around this thread.

Han's sister, no offence, is just passing along rumors as well that are passed around the office as well. Having previously worked in product managerment for years, I can tell you that product launches are kept close to the vest. There is a select group of people who know when something is going to launch, and it isn't customer service, I can tell you that much.

Marketing, product management, and executives typically are the only people with solid information. There are other departments who play a role in a products launch, but they typically only have a faint idea of actual release dates.

On the brighter side, I'll have my Galaxy Nexus LTE this Friday for testing. I'll be sure to put up some pictures when it arrives.

Word got out that Patrice O'Neal died in the past couple hours. That made me sad, I'll miss him on O&A. Kinda puts the whole phone thing in perspective. But as for the Nexus, no, nothing of note.

For all of you ranting and raving about sending emails to Verizon I would like to do a bit of community service to these forums about how to do this the proper way.

How To Launch An Executive Email Carpet Bomb - The Consumerist

I followed this advice and with great success with Comcast.

I hope this helps weed out some of the rediculous things that people have debated sending

Doing exactly what the consumerist talk about there was how I got to do a straight up swap if a two month old bionic lemon for a ReZound!

I wonder if it will work on T-Mobile.

Only reason I ask is because a few months back I imported an SGSII. However I could not get 4G on T Mobile because it was not "their device."

It did however work on ATT with no problemos. I am tempted to import and just to got ATT, but gonna try to be patient and wait it out a bit longer. Hope that its worth the wait.

EDIT: Just found out why finally! So scratch that. This will work on T-Mobile! Yay!
I still may jump to ATT or TMobile if they get it just to get a cheaper monthly bill anyways.

Testing?? How is it this phone has been on testing for almost 3 weeks???

Verizon just put out this press release explaining the Nexus delay.

"Basking Ridge, NJ
Verizon Wireless, a leader in global telecommunications is pleased to announce another first in it's history. Today we would like to announce the first irrefutable evidence of an afterlife. For the past month, our headquarters have been haunted by the ghost of Steve Jobs. We have tried unsuccessfully to launch our new flagship device, the Galaxy Nexus, on the nation's best 4G LTE network, beginning with a planned release in early November. Shortly after internal communications were leaked to the internet, strange and paranormal activity began at our headquarters, with files, documents, and merchandise going missing or being edited without anyone's consent. Shortly after these occurrences began, a strange man was often seen wandering the halls muttering the phrase "this changes everything", and "I will destroy Android, " along with disparaging comments to staff members . Investigators were utilized and it has been determined that this poltergeist is non other than Steve Jobs. We are honored that Mr. Jobs, a visionary and genius would team with Verizon Wireless to introduce the next big thing. As of now we are still planning to introduce the Galaxy Nexus in 2011 as long as the exorcism is successful."

I have also confirmed this with a source.
