Help Lock Screen Time Out Adjustment

I have searched and read about this, but have not seen a solution so...

I have a Galaxy S II X (Telus Version, same as T-Mobile) and have set the display to time out after 1 minute, but the slide lock screen times out to black after only a few seconds. I installed WidgetLocker and solved the issue for me, but on my wife's LG Optimus Chat I would like to avoid installing more apps since the phone is slow enough as it is. Is there a default Android setting to increase the lock screen timeout? Increasing the display timeout to 1 minute has no effect on the lock screen.

When you change the screen time out to a minute the phone shouldn't lock till then as well. Have you tried resetting your phone? I have the Telus version too.

Thank you for the reply, but I am not referring to the lock time out when in the OS. I am referring to when the phone is asleep (black screen) and you press the button to wake up the screen. The lock screen appears as expected, but if you don't touch it within 3 or 4 seconds it goes back to sleep.

Ahh. I get it. No, sorry I'm not aware of a way but there must be way to change this in a build.prop file. I'll see if I can find anything.
