***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Can't just "blow" the Hulk up silly Han, the big thinkers of the marvel community saw him as a threat and flung him at the Sun. He survived that conquered another planet and came back to Earth and started murdering every super hero he felt was involved (See World War Hulk)

Actually, from what I recall, the intent was to aim him at an unpopulated planet before he ended up in the wrong place. They never tried to send him into the sun.

I'd like to nip this in the bud before it turns into a rumor. The unit I have coming for testing has nothing to do with working out bugs on the phone. I'm not in any way testing the unit to find bugs or lack there of. The units coming to us are for personal use for myself and our firm to try out.

So what time are they due to arrive? :)

Anyone who wants a phone that will take the best pictures possible should pick up an iPhone, that's really the ONLY reason why I can see getting one.

However I'm very excited that the Galaxy Nexus will have no shutter lag and has the point to focus feature. I'm also looking forward to the panorama mode it has because I loved that with my LG Dare. The 1080p video isn't that important to me, I see myself shooting in 720p in most cases, 1080p just seems like overkill.

To me the camera looks more than good enough to keep me happy. I'm just excited to have such a gorgeous phone, this will be a major upgrade from my OG Droid.

if anyone wants the best pictures, pick up an actual camera and learn to capture great stories... no trigger happy photographer is going to get a great shot without the basics first.

that being said, i'm not an expert when it comes to cameras in phones. but if you want the BEST camera on a phone, you'd have to first define what it is you want in a camera, and then go for the phone.

i think most people would prefer to have a great user experience (ease of taking pictures, access to settings, etc) over the highest quality picture that takes forever to compile, share, etc.

I can't figure out why this is a positive thing, unless they think that the Gnex customer demographic is vampires?
Well OTD is in here quite often. ;)

Again, outside shots seemed to be on par with the SGSII. Can't see why being just as good with outdoor shots, and better for indoor shots and night shots could ever be construed as bad.

I have a 5MP camera at home that takes much better shots than a newer 12MP camera. So much more to a camera than the sensor size.

Ugh. Come on. He's still flesh and blood. He's not an alien, like Superman. They should have stuck to the original concept: He's an alter ego of Bruce Banner when he gets pissed. He should be able to travel to other planets and conquer them. He can't be pissed 24/7. It's physically impossible. Also, why the hell hasn't anyone just killed him when he's Bruce Banner? No one can just point a sniper rifle at him when he's not looking?

I stopped reading comic books a while ago because I couldn't stand all these "alternate" universes, time travel, etc. They keep killing off superheroes and then bringing them back a few months later, as if nothing happened. They kill Batman, and then reveal that he was actually just thrown backwards in time.

It's so frakking aggravating.

He is still a manifestation of one of Banners personalities. The same goes for Super Man though, Bat Man keeps a kryptonite bullet just for putting superman down. And we all know super man doesn't dodge bullets, he wouldn't see it coming.

The key component of the Hulk is his healing ability, fresh and blood be it as it may but when he can regenerate cells fast than the sun can burn them away, what do you do? Theoretically he could be angry for quite a long time because he has a personality disorder from his fathers abuse. But at time Banner and the Hulk make an "agreement" and so forth allows him the abilities of the Hulk with the mind of Banner.

Because a "full" size camera will have a full size flash. Phone Camera doesn't have that luxury so "low light" performance becomes important. I snap a lot of pictures out with friends restaurants, bars, walking down the street... I know my Dinc. performs badly in these situations.

Everyone has their own opinion, mine is if your extremely concerned about quality on that "level" you should be using a full sized dedicated camera. A phone should give up some in absolute quality for usability. (i.e. pic taking speed and low light).

Note: from what I've seen GN Pictures are GREAT. Much better then my old point and shoot from 3-4 years ago. It's not like their bad pics.

Jellybean is exactly what I've heard the next OS is codenamed. Although I highly doubt it will be 4.1. Probably a little higher in the revs than that. 4.5, 5.0? After that, it's K. Key Lime Pie maybe? I've actually heard speculation as KitKat, but I don't think they're going to use something trademarked.

I'm expecting it not to be 5.0 since the only talk rumor'd for JellyBean is that it contains parts of ICS that couldn't be finished in time, which is very normal. Cupcake 1.6, Donut was 2.0, Eclair was 2.1, Froyo 2.2, Gingerbread 2.3, Honeycomb 3.0. The big jumps were Cupdate => Donut and Gingerbread => Honeycomb. You could definantly argue Froyo was a big jump, but it didn't really change on the outside. ICS is just Honeycomb evolved.

Truth be told, the camera is very low on the priority list of things that I need in a phone. I think I've taken a total of maybe a hundred pictures and exactly one video in the year and a half I've had my OG Droid. Most people that care a tremendous amount about the megapixels and other features of phone cameras have real, actual cameras that they probably also tote around with them, so I'm at a little bit of a loss as to why the Nexus' camera is being fussed over to this extent.

Between my Dinc and my wife's Dinc I would venture to say that we've taken more than 2,000 pictures with our phones over the past 20 months. Our phone has become our #1 form of taking photos. I can't remember the last time I took our camera out of it's case. The ONLY time I bring out our Sony HDD camcorder is for graduations, weddings, and Christmas morning. With Qik and our stock camcorder on our Dinc almost 100% of anything we need to capture is taken care of. We share a lot of shots with Facebook (which by the way is one of the major things that keeps me from ever switching to an iPhone, sharing with social media outside of Twitter is very difficult). I also upload every shot into folders in Picasa.

Actually he does have a Paid app that gives access to "leaks" earlier.. Its the TeamBlackHat app.
It's TBH's app, not specifically his.

However, all the TBH updates are available for free. It's up to you if you want to pay for the convienence of the app rather than have to sideload things yourself. Similar to how you don't need ROM Manager to install ROMs, but it sure makes it a lot easier.

Personally, I take a lot of low-light shots, and this is going to be a huge plus for me. The DX camera is SAD to say the least, unless I'm outside on a sunny day...then it's passable.

It's so cute how grown men get so serious when they talk about super heroes like they're real people.

ICS is just a refined Honeycomb, as you said, but they changed major revision numbers.

Honestly, despite the past minor revisions, I think Google is going to fortify thier forward software revision process to avoid a lot of confusion. They've already shown this by going from 3.0 to 4.0 for the ICS revision. I expect that to continue in the future. Just my speculation, but one based on logic.

Trying to be more "applish" I guess.

4.1 does not get a new name..Only major upgrades in the "first decimal" get new code names ie; "Froyo," "Gingerbread," etc. It has already been officially announced by Google that Jellybean will be the new name for 5.0.

Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread were all that way though...it's only with Honeycomb on tablets that you saw multiple version updates under the Honeycomb label (probably because ICS was already planned as the phone/tablet hybrid OS).

I know I'm being a downer but we still have no official word on anything yet. People are getting worked up about 12/8 and still nothing. A friend of mine works in a VW store and this person has not heard anything, either. The manager of this store has heard nothing as well. I'm supposed to get a call or text on anything related to the GN so I will keep everyone posted if I hear anything.

The original statement was that you could pay for earlier leaks, which means we are making the same point. As far as the difference between him and the APP well he is the leading DEV providing the leaks.

If there is a new leak he is the one promoting it from his P3 twitter account. Im not saying its wrong what I am saying is that people DO pay for leaks of software from him if they want it earlier.

Batman does not keep a kryptonite bullet, but rather has a kryptonite rock, given to him by Superman. Clark told Bruce that he was the one he trusted most to put him down with it should he ever be mind-controlled or a threat. Batman would never have any kind of bullet as he doesn't use guns. The one time he admittedly broke his anti-gun oath was when he used a special bullet to stop Darkseid in Final Crisis. Now that the DC universe has been reset, all bets are off.

Speaking of resets, in the brand new Incredible Hulk #1 out now, Hulk and Banner are separate physical entities. No word on how it happened yet.

this is VERY good news :) My one issue with most phone's camera's is the low-light performance.

I'm with you on that one in an almost nail biting state. I need that "Hiding In Plain sight" a handset with video can provide.

I find myself conducting surveillance in clubs and restaurants and am waiting for something with good low-light capabilities.

Right now I use a Kodak Zi8 (awesome in lo-light) that so-far has never been confused as a video camera.
With a phone cam I can update the office on the spot.

I will be posting my findings with test shots from a Long Horns Steak House that is medium to low-light. Most Long Horns are the same so folks can relate.
Some lowlight demos I see are pretty much useless because I cannot relate to the actual ambient light.
