The Story:
But, ive taken it upon myself to contact key developers on xda that have worked on the lg revolution 4g. And I finally received a reply from mtmichaelson which is a senior member at xda. I nicely asked if it was truly possible to port the revo4g source to the lg esteem and this is what he had to say:

mtmichaelson said:
I would be happy to look further into it, as long as I have some testers. Easiest would be to get them on our irc at night. One thing though is that I have never built a recovery. I can look into it though!

The revo and esteem are very similar, but are also pretty different. Like I said, I will be happy to look into it though, but will just need some people to test that have some sense on how to recover from fastboot, or flash in lgnspt in case that's where we end up lol.

I think that is great news and we're getting the ball rolling. I've done LQNSPT, but im sure we can make a quick tutorial on how to accomplish that. Ive never recovered from fastboot. But, we're gonna need these tutorials anyway.

And please, i'm not beggin.... but donations...donations...donations.... atleast one damn dollar will make devs happy.

Donate to mtmichaelson: http://bit.ly/rsckQV
Donate to PlayfulGod: http://bit.ly/swUtzO

So you wanna help? Heres how:
Theres a few ways for you to help. We all do not have money to give away for donations, which is perfectly understandable. However, one of the biggest ways to help out is doing if not all of the following atleast one.

1. Vote for LGEsteem at XDA-Developers by adding +1 Lg Esteem on this thread: http://bit.ly/snnXUy

2. Track down the MS910.dll that is able to be register to reflash stock recovery on phones that have soft/hard brick for the LG Esteem. If we find this, it would be the best way to help and will most significantly prolong our current development phaze and gives us completely control over fixing our own bricks. (Please do not post the ms910.dll that has been flowing around the net, it does not seem to register. However, download it, make sure it registers and then upload it here and post intructions. PLEASE.

3. A member at GSM-Forum named VAHID GSM seems to be the only person of knowledge on how to register it. Someone hunt him down please? I've tried. MS910.dll is VERY important, we need it. See VAHID GSM post here: http://bit.ly/rMgjMc (Registration is required)

Do believe I have spoke to mtmichaelson on a few occasions. Have him get in contact with me about CWM as I have most of the ground work for it done and on my github. Far as I can tell, a graphics.c is needed and maybe a few more defines in the BoardConfig.mk., but al the basic stuff is there n correct far as I and those whom I have collaborated with on it thus far can tell.

I would also like to mention PlayfulGod deserves donations also. My damn paypal is still verifying, but i will surely donate as soon as it does clear.

Anyone up for the challenge? PM me for more instructions.

I actually have TWO for testing (three actually) one in service and two not in service.

Also. give me a donation link and I'll provide! :)

Let me know. PM when ready!

I'd be more than willing to test. I've never heard of freenode, but I'm sure Google will turn something up. My Esteem is in service right now, but I will lose service on the 9th of December. Unable to pay bill, but I shouldn't need service to help test CWM, just a custom rom. lol

You can use freenode from your phone by downloading AndroIRC from the market, its free
