Is this a "Big" meeting they are having today or the usual Thursday meeting?

No, it's not a normal meeting. It's a regional priority meeting. They do it for when there are new top-tier phones coming out. That's what both my sister and the store rep have told me.

I'm 100% at least part of it will be about the Gnex.

I hate when people say this. That doesn't mean we can't get upset. They need to control their leaks or something. We don't hear anything from Apple for the whole year, but when they announce something, it's out the next week. No delays.

If you look at my post again you'll see I was specifically and directly responding to someone who mispoke about the difference between announcement made and a release date being announced. I wasn't implying anything about anyone's personal sentiments and have maintained that this is very annoying for myself as well.

When you get right down to it, Verizon never technically lied to us, that's true. We can't be angry at them for that. But to send out an internal equipment guide saying December 9 and then reneging (apparently), to constantly be pushing the date back (apparent from internal leaks), and to insist on exclusivity in the U.S. while making us watch the entire world (Canada this morning) get the damn thing before any of us, it just smacks of stupidity.

So we can't attack them for lying to us, but we can definitely be awestruck and their utter stupidity and inability to just launch a damn phone in a timely manner.

This! Just because they didn't advertise it doesn't mean they didn't have a date (several in-fact) and screw it up. Just because we took a look behind the curtain doesn't absolve them from being stupid. :p

I'm an ET...

<------ Retired ETC(SW/MTS) :)

There are two benefits to being a retired Electronics Technician: (a) the retirement check; and (b) I don't have to hire Geek Squad to install and configure my entertainment system :D

Now if only Dish Network would release their VIP922 receiver, I could access all my channels and DVR content on my Nexus!

Verizon also announced that they were releasing the Nexus One; two years ago! Announcing the carrying of the phone does not mean that the phone will even happen!

As far as I know, Verizon themselves never officially announced they would be carrying the Nexus One. There was never a PR put up on their website like there was with the GNex. Google was the one to put the "Coming Soon" message on their website. Verizon never said anything about it...

And anyway, a CDMA version of the Nexus One for Verizon was never even built as far as I know. We not only know that the CDMA/LTE GNex exists, but we know it's all boxed up and ready to go.

Two different situations IMO

If i remember correctly they said they were in talks for the Nexus One and planned to carry it. While I understand your sentiment I don't agree. There has been a huge, almost unprecedented amount of press about this phone being on Verizon. Every party involved has confirmed the carrier will have the phone.

Verizon didn't say they were in talks to carry the Nexus One- Verizon did announce that they were going to carry the Nexus One before they announced that they were not going to carry the Nexus One.

Many on this thread have been trying to point out that Verizon never gave a release date for THIS Nexus so they haven't done anything wrong. My point is that Verizon has done things wrong with the Nexus; it has been almost two years since they told us they were going to carry it.

I agree that we will get the GNex; hopefully tomorrow. It has already been produced which is more than can be said for the Verizon Nexus One.

I feel you, wasn't trying to attack you or anything.. I meant that in general.

I'm still 50/50 on it coming out tomorrow. My sister and I talked late last night (nothing new to report, and most of the conversation wasn't about the Gnex, so I didn't post anything), but she did tell me that everyone who's talking about it doesn't see one single reason to delay it.

She heard yesterday (as I posted) that there were some bugs that came out during testing, but she figures that was old news.

The 4G outage, she said, might be a reason, but they didn't think it would take that long to fix, certainly not a few days.

I have a feeling that Verizon simply got pissed at their release date being leaked like crazy, and they decided to simply tell their store reps that December 9 was no longer in play. Maybe during the meeting today they will say it's back on, and to shut up about it.

Who knows.

Hans--from speaking with your sis...or anyone else in the know, what is the likelihood of vzw in today's regional meeting of reversing yesterday's decision and selling tomorrow if it was indeed due to LTE issues which seem to have been fixed?

I also wonder if they halted shipments of product to corporate stores yesterday that still hadn't received.

Edit: i guess nevermind b/c you just answered my question 2 posts before. Quit reading my mind---weird! =)
