I'm sorry I don't buy into the "Verizon hates us, those liars! woe is me" stuff.

I don't buy it either. Verizon doesn't hate us. They have a reason they feel is worthy of delaying the launch, whatever it is. But it IS a delay. Even Verizon employees are admitting it is delayed. The store manager I spoke to admitted it was delayed. Verizon didn't release a press announcement with a date. But corporate DID give the go ahead for employees to tell customers the 9th. At that point, a press release doesn't change the fact that the 9th was made publically known to be the release date by Verizon. So when they pulled it back (with letters to managers announcing a DELAY), they delayed the launch, officially.

My TPU cover arrived today. I walked around all day at work pulling it out of my pocket and "talking" to VZW reps. Great fun. And I'm going to wait tomorrow, for you east coasters to let me know if I should head down the street to pick up the phone that will go into this fine case. Standing by....Think I might even lay out a special outfit....and a hat....definitely a hat.

Who has NOT been able to get their local VZW store to show off their Demo Galaxy Nexus??

Verizon store has consistently told me that they have no information, no stock, and that there will be no appointments or reservations. When it _is_ for sale it will be first come first serve.

Resellers range from "Oh that phone? Yeah I don't know. Its like the Thunderbolt though who knows when it might come out. You should buy this nice Razr ..." To "We have it, I'll take your number and call you when we can sell it?" <- Reseller wouldn't let me see one.

To personal friend who is a reseller who _should_ have stock tomorrow according to Fedex says that they were told "12/9, then 12/12 then 12/9 again then 12/15 then ... Soon" but all by word of mouth. I asked if he ever received "official" emails and he laughed and said they didn't rate as important enough for that. Edit: Supposedly was also told that the rotating launch day was because of failed software updates. FWIW ... Which is pretty close to nothing

Guessing CYA where Y=Verizon.

Well I am disheartened that we are most likely not going to see our precious tomorrow, as well as by the fact that I am a Virginia Tech student and we had another incident this afternoon...ehh. The only glimmer of hope I've had lately is that I get to graduate in 8 days AND I pulled the trick off that got me unlimited data yesterday. Wait, I guess those two things are more than "glimmers" ;)

CONGRATULATIONS on graduating! Its always good to be a Hokie (except when we play Clemson).

Yeah. I was a bit surprised when the rep volunteered to show me his demo phone. He was as excited about the phone as us though and may not have been following whatever rules about showing the Demos off that might be out there.

This doesn't even make sense. The Xyboard and Nexus aren't even in the same category. That's like saying Apple is delaying releasing a new iPhone because a new iPad is coming out. They don't compete with each other.

They dont have to compete to steal sales from eachother. Its not in a companies best interest to launch two flagship like devices on the same day. Verizon stands better to push the DROID brand then to push a separate device entirely.

Also is it any wonder why the iPad and iPhone are on two different release schedules? They know not to launch two high profile, high expense devices on the same day
