Should I buy this phone?

I really want a white galaxy s2 this Christmas. Loved everything about it. There is just a thing that's bugging me. Its about the burn in issue. Im planning to use this phone for 2-3 years and Im very OC when it comes to gadgets.

1. Does burn in happen in all galaxy s2 phones?
2. Can you remove it by putting a plain white background for a while?
3. Will samsung accept it for replacement when it start to appear after a few months?
4. Will I have it even if I change the way icons appear every time?

I'm not familiar with any widespread burn-in issue. Perhaps it is specific to a particular model, although I doubt it, since they all use the same SAMOLED display. You might want to check in the device forums. Because the Galaxy S2 classification covers different models from different carriers, the forums have been split so not to cause any confusion. Select the forum appropriate to the phone.

I have not herd of this either ? I have not had any issues at all and I am sure it will be able to be fixed if that happens to you. It is a great phone and love it.

Burn in is possible....I've seen it on some phones (including the galaxy s2) in shops. To be honest it's a pretty hard thing to achieve (unless you're extremely unlucky and happen to get a burnt-in/defective phone out of the box.

As I said the only ones I've seen it on are in phone shops where the 'always-on' display phones have been programmed to stay on, either just showing the home screen or an infinite-looping demo that the phone store/network has created for advertising. Another example of course is plasma tv's in pubs/clubs etc that are just showing a logo or something 24/7 over a period of months/years etc

Seriously, this takes LONG-sustained effort to 'achieve,' it's not something you're going to cause accidentally during day-to-day operation.

This phone was my first Android phone, I think it's a great phone and I have no problems with the screen. I bought this phone in July and it's been fine so far.

Screen-burn is a potential but pretty unlikely phenomena for pretty much any phone that has a display. Unless you actively TRY and give it to your phone.

Buy the phone or stick to landline.

I have had my phone 3 months and have no burn in, but the pixels do degrade for lack of a better word uneven. The bottom right of my screen is slightly different in shade than the rest. The task bar at the top is a prime example, if you put your phone in landscape and then go into say Google movies with the grey background it is noticeable.
This isn't burn in as such but its still an issue, not a deal breaker but I would think again about an amoled in future. That is me personally, who actually does have OCD.

Yeah that's a fair point, totally agree. I've always thought the 'quality-control' (and I've seen quite a few gs2's) is a bit....diverse with these displays anyway. And I think it is due to the super amoled technology......the pros outweigh the cons though. No other phone screen technology has such vibrant colours or such black blacks.
