Also, there is a hack someone released that makes the folders on your homescreen square instead of round. I think I'll do that tomorrow, too.

Same for me. No ROM until I see one that just blows me away. Besides, after everything we've gone through, I really want to see and feel what all the hype was about.

I live in Alabama and I pointed out that it is a Christmas discount for upgrading from a 3G phone to a 4G phone and renewing a new every 2 line. The CSR saw that it was true in her promos list and gave me the promo. She said it was not regional specific. She did ask where I got the promo code from and I told her from a forum thread.

What discount code you used?

I didn't mention this before, but I rented a ReZound, and I returned it. But when I rented it originally, I used the last annual upgrade (Verizon discontinued these). So I should've been able to use that. Keep trying, Mine only moved from 12/28 to the 14, so it was only a couple weeks.

Good Luck. If nothing else, you could try to go into a vzw store tomorrow and ask them to move it up. When they have a commission hanging in the balance they might be more willing to go for it.

Mine is also available 12/28. I've tried 3 times now and the last two have mentioned the "iconic portal" where its only done through their website, even when they sell you it in store it's only available based on what your discount on your account says. They said normally they can use a code to push your upgrade forward and order you the device immediately but with the iconic portal there's just no way. Did you tell them anything special when you called them? Did you mention it was for the Nexus?

I feel like the only thing still standing in my way at this point is them selling out, although my store opens at 8 and I'll be there waiting by 7:45.. hope that gives me a good enough shot.

So will you just do the manual root listed on this site or have you seen it elsewhere? Does clockwork recovery gsm officially work on lte? Don't want to brick my baby lol. Rooting my dinc was cake with unrevoked.

Guys, it has been a long, painful journey for us. I just want to say thanks to everyone who supported each other in the stressful times leading up to the launch. Tomorrow we will finally have our prize, and we can all go back to our normal lives. However, I for one will stick around in the Nexus section to continue talking to you great people.

And for those of you who haven't held one yet: I finally got to tonight, and let me tell you it is everything you're thinking it will be. We have put this thing on such a high pedistool but believe me it delivers.

yeah that's exactly why I'm doing it. That, and I want to be able to run apps that require root. And I don't want to have to backup/restore my data/etc twice (once doing dinc -> nexus and then again nexus -> nexus when I root it). So I'm going to root it as soon as I get to work

Not sure how reliable it is, but I think last week I read somewhere there was gonna be a minimum of 15 at corporate stores for the launch.

most standalones i called had 30-40
the one i'm going to (cause it opens an hour earlier) only has 10.

I need to pose a question to all of you...

My new upgrade is for February 2nd and I called the store and they said they could not upgrade me and renew the contract, I am going to call tonight to see if I can get one and renew my contract, if I can't I am going to go to the store tomorrow at 9:00am, any suggestions on how I handle it in there besides being nice and polite?

Yeah, I specifically mentioned I wanted to order online tonight. The only real difference I can think of was I previously had the early annual upgrade. Sucky that they're giving you a hard time about 2 weeks. This was the only time I've ever tried to move my upgrade date though.

What do I plan to do right away with my Nexus? One thing I'm very excited about doesn't actually involve the phone per se. Getting some blank NFC tags from a supplier and cooking up some personal NFC tags for my daily use. I know some of us discussed this a while back, but THAT is one of the first things I plan on doing. In fact, price shopping for them right now.

Ok, first thing WITH the device? Sheesh, I'll probably spend a good 10-15 mins cleaning off my ......drool.
