Eh, the game is alright. If you are into story , it'll be fun for the most part, it is very generic, it doesn't do anything particularly new. For what it is, I'm sure it will be great (if you are a Star Wars fan).

Not my cup of tea, personally by level 20 I was bored to tears. The battlegrounds were extremely lame (I hate BGs for pvp) and the questing, though with story line was very run of the mill.

If you like WoW, love Star Wars and want to be apart of an interactive story , you will probably think the game is amazing.

Just so I can kind of get an idea of where you are coming from (as far as tastes), what MMOs would you consider really good?

I decided that I will be playing this game with my best friend of 17 years when it's released. I actually just discovered it today so umm... virtually no wait time for me. lol

I played Star Wars Galaxies when it was first released and absolutely loved that game until Sony took a butcher's knife to it and well...

I'm glad to see that a new MMORPG has been developed based on Star Wars and that it didn't die with SWG.

It really is a great game. I beta tested it for almost 2 months. Beta ended last Saturday and I can't wait to get my early access CE edition!

Pretty much stole the words from my mouth (or my fingers in this case). I'm not a fan of anything sci-fi oriented so it explains why I didn't really spend much time playing. I was convinced SWTOR was going to bring something new to the table, which it didn't.

Same. One of the Devs, Colin Johansen and I worked together on one of his first games, a MUD by Mythic called Dragon's Gate. Good kid with some awesome ideas for games. Looking forward to seeing how he does with his new toys.

Will dabble in SWTOR if only to do the single player storylines. It's not a bad MMO, but I think I've been playing them for too long so they almost always immediately feel old.

If you have any problems just close it and restart, it will pick up where it left off.

Everything so far is going smoothly. I'm getting "decent" download times. Something a bit weird happened though when I minimized the launch screen and couldn't bring it back up again. I just restarted it and no problems.

The best friend is struggling to be able to play the game. lol He has it all at lowest setting possible and he's still lagging all over the place with his 8 year old desktop.

What server are you playing on? He and I are playing on Kalibur Crystal on the "good" side.

Ahhh ok.

We decided to go PvE as well since we are unfamiliar with how PvP servers work in the game. We assumed that it was like WoW where certain zones are hostile.

Update: So I'm now 7 1/2 levels in and am enjoying it. I love the huge story focus.

I'm currently a Jedi Sage with a specialization in Seer tree. I basically want to become a healer. I really love my companion since he can just take all the damage while I damage and heal from a distance.

Something I'm still learning is the whole crafting business. Crafting typically was always a bit complicated with past games but I like how easy it is in this one.

I really like the crafting in the game. They lay it out easily and you can craft basically anywhere.

I was wondering.... do you know how to raise treasure hunting aside from just doing the missions? I have my archaeology and artifice high enough to where it's actually above my level but treasure hunting is still low.
