[International / GSM] A reason I miss my SD Card

So at first I thought, I can live without an SD card, I mean I NEVER took it out. But...now that I have flashed a rom, I miss it since if I wipe data when I flash some roms (which I will have to do at some point afaik) I will loose all my pics, videos, music, etc. Just curious how everyone is handling this out there?

I believe SD Card partition is separate from /data. AFAIK, your SDCard will not be wiped if you wipe data/cache.

Yes if you use root explorer or another file manager to check out your memory you will see there is /sdcard on your internal memory.

When you wipe in recovery the only parts of the memory that will wipe are /data (when you choose factory reset) and /system (if you choose format system) also dalvik and cache which I think are located under /data but could be somewhere else.

You should be able to choose format SD in recovery and that would wipe /sdcard but I don't think I have ever used that option or told anyone to.

True, but depending on how much data you have on the sdcard, that can take forever.
