To add to your confusing sub thread. I am confused now because most of the post are for the verizon brand to begin with.

The Samsung Droid Prime thread was the attended Verizon Nexus that needs to have something done with.

So if I am getting this right, for example; Battery issues for GSM will be posted in the main thread and battery issue for the Verizon brand should be posted in the Verizon sub thread?

Generally, yes.

Strictly, no. We'll be moving the threads as we see the Verizon OP, etc. But as you say, some issues/queries are so generic that moving the thread may seem not right.

This is going to be a bit of a struggle to get it perfect.. I hear ya man. ;)

Should of made a GSM sub thread, It would have been much simpler.

The EPIC pre-order thread was attended for the GSM version but it was taking over by the Verizon peeps.

In the end it really does not matter to me, It will be more work for the mods and I now truly feel sorry for them.:p

Don't tell Phases the Admin or Rob the Site Owner, but I agree with you about the GSM forum rather than VZW.

ssshhhhhhh :D

But, kidding aside, it would be a bit of work for us no matter the change. Any change here does that.

It's more difficult for the mods because they have to sort threads.

It's more difficult for the users because we have two places to look for information that may concern us.

Yes, "overlapping concerns" is what has been on my mind about this, as well.

But I do think that it'll take hold as we move along and probably be a lot like the first big change here back when Support and Troubleshooting etc subs were created: confusion at first then a tweak to the prefix system for newer devices.

We'll see.. the idea is to accommodate the members best, and sometimes it takes some tweaking to get it there. :)

Adding LTE for Verizon or GSM for world phone to your devices list in your profile/avatar will let others know which phone you are talking about, when you ask a question.

My device says: GNex LTE. Plus it is noted that it is rooted as well. Less confusion.

^^^^ Did I say that right?

Stuff like that^. :D

Why not leave everything in one like it was, but prefix the thread title GSM or LTE if it is specific?

Well, the prefix system is geared toward providing members with a way to identify their device concern, subject or issue: support or accessory or providing a tip, etc.

Including a system type in there would interrupt that whole thing. But I do wish we did have some member way to make that identification other than having to indicate it in their Control Panel.. some way that comes up for them as they compose and create their new thread.

To me it would make sense to have the root Nexus forum be for general, non-device specific stuff and then have an LTE sub and GSM sub for device specific. Concern I have is that now the main forum is GSM and will continue to be a dumping ground. Seems like it would make sense to breakout LTE and GSM into sub's and then have root subs under each one respectively.

I would at least appreciate this for the Root Subforum. Whenever a ROM is posted, LTE/GSM needs to be put in the title. A small disclaimer at the bottom of the post is a little half hearted.
My own 2 cents. Guess it was easier with the NS vs NS4G, two quite different phones.

I agree. And that could still happen.

As it is, all proposals were put forth to Admin and Owner, and this choice as made as a sort of starting point. That's the thing about doing this stuff here with such an active, daily posting blizzard environment: we have to move along in baby steps sometimes, and we'll never be able to please all users (or Staff ;)).

So, again, today is the first day of this, and Phases reads in here and is absolutely committed to doing what is best for members.
