Hi. I'm Rae. Or, you may call me 'just another noob'.

I rooted my recently updated (1.4) Nook Color using CM. A couple things I'm noticing: first, if I idle and I press the 'n', it seems to go back to standard nook format? :( Am I an idiot or am I missing something? It's annoying. Please help.

Secondly, when it's cooperating as a Nooty Noot should, I have access to the market. My first download attempt is Nook for Android. Everytime I attempt to select it, the market flashes a white screen and goes back to the app list.

I'd love you forever if you could help. Jus' sayin'.

So you have CM on your NC... is it the latest version 7.1 stable?

Is it installed on your NC or on the sdcard?

I don't understand the problem, is everything working ok except for Market? Did Market ever work?

You might try opening settings.... applications... all... find market and uninstall updates, then try it again.

On NC. Everything appears to be working fine otherwise. Installed gApps, market's installed. It gives me the force close error. I've gone into framework services and market and clear cached. Ran fix permissions. Rebooted.

I have not been successful in getting the market to work at all (it loads but am immediately slapped with the force close error).

That sounds an awful lot like you rooted 1.4.1 using the 1.3 instructions. Everything works, but you can't install from Market. You may find you can't download stuff from B&N either.

The trick is NOT to use the older manualnooter versions. Over on XDA, GMPOWER has provided manualnooter-5.12.19.zip. Use that and ONLY that on your 1.4.1 install. You probably want to update the unit so it will NOT update OTA automatically, since B&N has apparently broken sideloading capabilities on both the Tablet and Color with a recent update.
