A cure for the Fire's sluggish screen

If you experience some sluggishness at times when pressing icons or the Home or Back button, I found this on another KF forum:

There's an app called Touchscreen Booster that was designed for the Samsung Galaxy, but, judging by the comments in the apps reviews, wirks on other devices as well. I installed it on the Fire and, using the 'Super Optimized' setting, noticed the difference right away.

The only thing is: it's available in the Android Market and not in the Amazon App Store, so it must be sideloaded. I have an Android phone, so I downloaded it from the Android Market on my phone, made a backup of it, and sent it to myself.

Help - I'm a bit of a newbie.
I get the download it to the phone part (I have an Incredible). How did you send it to yourself from the phone to the Fire?
A little hand-holding appreciated.

It's easier to get files from the phone if it's rooted. I just open root explorer on my phone and go to the data/app folder and copy the file I want on the phone to the sd card and then move it to the computer from there and then to the sd card of the kindle. From there I use root explorer again to navigate to it and install it. There are free file viewers on the amazon market you can use to do the same thing ( I think Es File manager is there) if you don't have root explorer.

If your phone isn't rooted you'll need to find a program that works for non rooted phones (maybe system tuner pro or my backup possibly) and do a backup then either use the same program on the kindle to install the backup after you grab it off the sd card of the phone or go into the backup and grab the .apk file.

Alternatively, you can search google for sgs touchscreen booster and try to find the .apk file and move it to the sd card and use your file manager to install it from there. I'm sure you can find a copy of it on the internet if you search google for it.

Rooting everything makes this so much easier. I can make copies on my phone of stuff and use wifi transfer to send them directly to the kindle...

If you're unsuccessful finding it post back here and I'll try to grab it and upload it for you. It is a free program in the market so I doubt anyone would mind.

If you're using Go Launcher you can make things a lot smoother by going into settings >preferences >advanced settings and turn on high quality drawing.

There are a number of different ways to obtain apps that are not available le in the amazon app store. If you have access to an android phone, one very easy way is to install Frostwire (available for free in the amazon app store) on both devices, and transfer the apk file from the phone to the Fire, and then install it. There's an earlier thread "How to install any app on the Fire", that will explain a few other ways.

Touchscreen did make a diffeence on my fire. I used the super optimized, and cranked up the sensitivity slider. Much better. Thanks!

You can make backup apk files on an unrooted phone using ES File Explorer and transfer them to an unrooted Kindle Fire.
