Has anyone figure out yet if there's a way to get the gallery to not show certain folders/pictures/vids in Ice Cream Sandwich? With earlier Android versions you could just put stuff in a .insertnamehere folder, but doesn't look to be the case now. Trying to do this without having to install an app that will "hide" them. Love my Nexus and ICS otherwise!

Actually, I've read that was still the case, the one catch being that you had to switch your phone from Media Device to Camera mode. I have not confirmed that myself, only passing out what I've previously read.

Edit: Well, just tried it out, and I was able to use the .insertnamehere method even as a Media Device. (actually wasn't able to figure out how to do it in Camera mode). I created a .folder, copied a couple images into it, and those images would not show up in my Gallery.

I use Astro as my file manager and I created a directory called .stuff. The folder isn't showing up and I'm having a hell of a time getting my Nexus to act right when connected to a PC. Locks up when I try to create folders or copy things over to it. I've read some other complaints about this too. When I try to do almost anything that alters the file system on the phone, Explorer will lock up on whatever PC I'm using. Have to quit the process and reconnect phone just to be able to see the drive. Anyway, I created the .stuff folder and now it's not visible in any of the formats I can view folders in so I can't put anything into it. Weird....

With regards to Astro, you have to show hidden files to see .folders. (and that settings is on a per folder basis, so you may have to enable it for multiple folders if you're hiding stuff in multiple locations)

As for the connection issues, that's another story. Sounds like a driver/Android bug that needs to get ironed out, though I haven't seen any issues on either my Win7 or XP boxes.
