The Darkside - HTC Hero (good humor

I have gone over to the darkside of the force: The HTC Hero

I went out over the weekend and for the first time, I really felt it was time to let my brick go. I was on the dancefloor and I couldn't even get my groove on right, because my Moment was trying to slip out my pocket, ruining my moment while I was dancing with a handsome feller...(lol) I think the alcohol also intensified my irritation...

Anyways, I went and got a Hero yesterday and my Moment will be on eBay today. I never thought a phone being a brick would bother me until now. I will say one thing, there is a difference in the 800mhz processor vs. the 500 mhz processor on the Hero, however its not major enough for me to cry about it.

My purse feels so much lighter now and I do like the Sense UI that I read a lot of complaints about. Now one thing is true, there is a noticible lag when you go from portrait to landscape with the keyboard, but I don't mind. I no longer have to deal with carrying a brick around. I did love my Moment, but its just way too much weight for me.

You want really lighten up that pocket to improve your groove, you can do what I did and get a Pixi. Still have my moment though. Nice thing with Google and Exchange is I can switch phones in minutes based on my mood while keeping my info up to date on both. Granted I can only do that with the Moment via wifi. When the Moment is active the Pixi is dead in the water. Not as easy as moving a SIM card, but Sprint's website makes it simple to switch out phones. So now I get to follow the progression of both OS's.

Welcome to the Darkside. I tried getting my wife to ditch her Moment for the Hero before our 30 day trial period was up. The funny thing is, when we're together she uses my Hero for calls because her battery is always dead. We also listen to Pandora through mine when in the car because her's pauses and crackles a lot. Congrats on the switch, you'll love the Hero, slideout keyboards are overrated anyways!

I must admit, I do LOVE IT SO FAR! The keyboard is great. I didn't realize that I would get used to it so quickly. Its just better all around, IMO. The Sense UI that everyone complain about is really what makes it stand out.

One thing about the keyboard you'll notice after awhile is horrible lag, especially if you post to forums with it. Just turn off the sound and vibration feedback and it nearly goes away.

I noticed a lag when you change to landscape but it doesnt bother me much. The Moment had its hiccups too..lol I don't post on forums much via mobile so I'll be okay. No phone is absolutely perfect and I'm one of the few people that accept that fact. Thanks for the welcome.
