Okay that's what I thought. I was like WHAT IN THE WORLD! Hahahaha I really wanted to get this underway tonight, but oh well. Good things I can wait for. Haha, Now... On the way to rooting my phone, it's about time, I've only had it since June! hahahaha
Reason is simple. Some developers like to use the command-line adb.exe to access the emulator filesystem. From there we can cd ls rmdir sqlite (access app database directly) etc commands which are pretty Unix/Linux like. For others they maybe use the File Explorer of the ddms.exe instead but they cannot use sqlite from ddms.exe interface afaik.
I'm suggesting starting with Java beginner so that you get an idea of what you're working with when you get into the Android Development tutorials. You really need to know basic Java, if you aren't up for learning that just give up on trying to develop using the links I provided.
