Anyone notice two layers of screen protection out of the box?

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this as well. Of course the most obvious layer of screen protection is the hard clear plastic cover that comes on the phone, this has a tab on it to make it easy to identify and to pull off. But if you look closely (at least for mine), there's a second layer underneath that, most people probably wouldn't even see it. Its noticeable if you look hard because its not completely flush with the screen, its a little bit smaller than the screen all the way around. I'm not sure if I want to pull this off, any takers?

Copied this from another forum. I just removed that factory installed screen protector and WOW did it improve the screen response to touch! I noticed that sometimes a touch or a swipe wouldn't register but not anymore! Even the screen appears to have more contrast. If you take it off, you'll see that it isn't just a thin protector either...it's pretty thick which would explain why the screen looks and performs better with it off. I just used my nail to dig into the corner and peel off that sticker to reveal the beautiful Gorilla Glass underneath!

I would if I had my cam. There really isn't much to post though...it doesn't look that much different in a pic, but you will see and feel the difference once you remove it and have a look at it for yourself.

I tried to rip off that second screen protector but all I see is my nail coming off. Are you sure there is a second screen protector? I'm not sure how gorilla glass feels like..

Amazing, I am so lucky to stumble upon your post, I bought this phone 6 months ago and within 2 days had a huge scratch right horizontally across the middle. I had been just sick about it. Come to find out it was just another layer of protection. Thanks so much. I wonder how many people put a screen protector on thinking its the only one?

I think a few people have... I took mine off within a couple days and replaced it with a zagg invisible shield though... Also some people don't have any problems so they don't really care...

haha I noticed that layer when i first got my MT, but I assumed that it was part of the screen some how cause I couldnt get it off. Im going to get some screen protectors and take it off now, thanks!

I think mine is still on my Triumph. I took off the first layer and put on an InvisibleShield. I don't know how much of a difference removal of the second protector will do, but I'm keeping it on since reapplying InvisibleShield is a pain.

Wow. Now I feel stupid. I always wondered why the touch response was so flakey after using a screen protector. I guess having two of them on was what did it. Thanks for reposting this!

I'll be doing this to mine because there are a few gnars on my screen that i thought was the screen it self, I am so glad that its just another protector!
