Help MMS not working.

So for some reason I can't receive MMS from people. Handcent doesn't work and neither does stock messaging app. I click on download and neither does anything. I'm doing it over 3G (also tried wifi).

Any advice or tips?

Actually I just downloaded GO SMS, and it worked... wtf?? Why does a third party app work, but the default messaging app and handcent don't?

Anyway if anyone reads this thread with the same problem go download Go SMS.

I'm having trouble recalling settings on stock, but is there a size limit option for sms/mms? I was thinking you could check that. Good to know there's a solution at least - good luck :)

Let me know if it works for you Glenn. I know I'm not the only person to have this problem, but I know there are many reasons to cause it.

The strangest part though is that now I have GOsms installed pictures come in and show up in Handcent, Default, and GOsms. I dunno what the good people at GO Software have done, but bravo.

I sometimes have the same problem. I turned off Auto Retrieve in the stock messaging (I use Go SMS pro, also) app settings, so when I get an MMS I click "download", but sometimes it doesn't work either.

I got two MMS's that wouldn't download yesterday... My phone was dead when I woke up today, so I booted it back up, and it downloaded them. Strange.

It seems to be working today though, because my friend has sent me two pictures today and it's downloaded both of them... so I have no idea haha.

Did you have 3G on when it didn't work?

I am having a similar problem using GoSMS. Neither it or stock will download SMS.

Also tried Handcent. No luck on 3G or wifi.

It won't work on wifi anyways... If you have wifi on and send a mms a 3g icon should appear, cuz mms only sends over 3g/ 4g (for other companies), and they may never be able to be sent over wifi... So you want to make sure data is enabled and your not in airplane mode.

I assumed it wouldn't work over wifi, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Is it possible to receive MMS without a microSD card?
Because I am also having an issue where my phone decides randomly to pretend there is no SD card inserted.. and it is not an issue with the card.

I can't remember... it stores a temp file either on the sdcard or the internal storage so that may be why you can't download it with no sdcard if it stores it there anyways.

As of yesterday i can't send or recieve MMS. It was working fine up until yesterday too ive never had a problem with it. I do have a question though, why does it turn the text message into an MMS when it hits a certain character limit?

The reason is because its to big after a certain amount of characters so it has to convert it to be sent over 3g instead of over the air like regular sms and calls. Meaning the data size of the text is to large and that's why pictures are sent like that too... I don't know how else to explain it.

I notice that in wireless network setting if you select (evdo only) you will not receive phone calls. I wonder if you do not receive mms either
