Screen Ghosting?

Anyone notice some bad ghosting with the droid 4's display?
Coming from my old LG Ally, which never had this issue, this is something I am not used to seeing...

It's a qHD display, so it's supposed to have some pretty bad ghosting. Droid-Life hates this screen. Screen types have never been a major deciding factor for me, so I don't really mind as much.

It's the same screen as the D3 (my current phone), and the only time it really bothers me is when I am playing Angry Birds. I am not a huge gamer but bet it is bad for most action games.
My son just got a D4 (from an OG Droid) and hasn't mentioned it yet but I'm sure it's the same as mine.
I really wish they had popped a Razr screen on instead. That, and the non-removable battery are my only initial 'complaints' about the 4. Hopefully when the 5 comes out and I'm ready to upgrade the screen will be better.

Yeah, the ghosting is the only nitpicky downside for me. Other than that the display is gorgeous.

Yes, the screen does ghost some but it's better than I was expecting. The colors are actually pretty impressive, and in some ways better than the AMOLEDs on the Razr in my opinion (no weird color shifts off angle). It is noticeable when scrolling through web pages (text blurs/gets bolder until the motion stops) but it's not like I could read while it was scrolling anyways

Maybe I'm just not picky, but I don't notice anything.

I love this screen way better compared to my ipod touch - which I get to sell and be rid of forever, thank goodness!

I was psyched to try out the droid 4. I went to the Verizon store and was disappointed in the display. Ghosting was quite evident and text was blurry when sliding between screens. Razr Maxx screen was much better. Guess I'll wait to see what comes out at MWC in a couple of weeks, sigh...

Slide-out keyboard was awesome, though.

I gave up waiting for "the next best thing"... I tried the Droid RAZR and returned it since I really didn't like the black splotches/off angle color shifts of the AMOLED display. I wound up waiting for the Droid 4, which has some disappointing things, but at least it meets my needs and is available now. I would really have liked to see that new Nokia Lumia but it would be a long time before we see it on VW.

One could wait forever for the perfect phone and not find it these days.

Additional thoughts:
I was attempting to watch the Simpsons on the Droid 4, and it was rather difficult. The ghosting is really obvious with the fast cartoon motion. However, I still liked the colors

I've been looking forward to this phone ever since it was first announced, but this screen ghosting issue has me concerned. I haven't had a chance to go down to a Verizon store and check it out in person yet so maybe it won't be so bad, but hearing about it here and elsewhere has put a damper on my enthusiasm. A friend at work just got the RAZR and that screen looks great - I was expecting the D4 to have something comparable to it.

I've been holding on to my trusty Droid X while all the hooplah has been going on about this and various other "latest and greatest" devices. My X is now 1.5 years old and I will be retiring it at some point [soon?] - can someone do a comparison between the screens of the DX and D4? Is there that much of a difference in the quality of the display?

I know the D4, while having a higher resolution, does give up a bit of viewing real estate (4" vs. 4.3" for the DX). I'm specifically asking for a comparison in the quality of the displays/viewing experience as I've never had any issue with ghosting on my DX - the screen has always been great for movies, games, web-browsing, etc. To those in this forum who have used the DX, how would the D4's screen compare when doing the above mentioned stuff?

Hey Ride, I had an Ally as well and after having the D4 for a week I so I had to return it. The display is so freakin bad! The ghosting on PowerAmp, App Drawer was brutal for me. I got the LG Spectrum instead and the display on that is full HD, it kills the d4, and razr. You would think Motorola would use a better screen, but whatever I guess. Just my 2 cents

It's among a few disappointments I have with this phone. But overall, that keyboard sealed the deal with me: I have large hands and typing on other keyboards looked like my cat walking on the keyboard on my system at home.

This thing is a true triumph, so it won me over.

But yes, that ghosting is not good. That said, however, you do get used to it. Scrolling through text is a nuisance, but eh....in 2 years we'll see what there is. I can live.

Im coming from the razr maxx and have seen this but i really dont mine as long as i get the keyboard. I have found out that i cant type worth a damn on a full touch screen phone like the maxx.
