Help samsung transform ultra (boost mobile) ics android 4.0 upgrade?

Don't cross your fingers... They may never come uncrossed.. Chances are that IF they did, and that's a really big if, it would be after someone else ported it to this phone. (like how Samsung released gingerbread to the prevail after people at this forum got it all worked out) Considering there is not an official release of ics for any phone but the nexus as of right now, it would be a very long time before that happens.

No offense, but your statement is flawed.

Right before I trashed my Samsung Galaxy Prevail (Boost Mobile), I received a OTA ICS upgrade. I think you should do a little research before making a wild statement like "there is not an official release of ICS for any phone", which is in fact a false statement.

Any update that comes OTA if official, end of story. Rooting your phone doesn't change where your OTA updates come from. Unless of course you were using custom firmware and your OTA updates are actually from somewhere else.

Are you sure you received that update? I highly doubt It as the prevail doesnt have the specs to run it. Im pretty sure there would be no internal memory left after that update, the phone would lagg basically every second your using it, and the nexus is the only phone running ics at the moment. Check again, post a screenshot if you still have the phone please?

Unfortunately, the phone suffered an untimely death at the hands of my clumsiness and a motion sensor that accidentally assisted in it's destruction. It was a great little phone and it will be dearly missed. :(

I answered your question, I would like to see proof that Nexus is the only phone with an official release. The statement stands as a bold statement with no foundation. There have been numerous phones that have received OTA upgrades, including my previous one.

Please refer to the following link for information on phones that have or will receive ICS (Android 4.0) Upgrade:

As you will see, Samsung Transform Ultra isn't listed, but it's predecessor Samsung Transform is, so the question of whether it's coming is intended to those qualified to answer or have see it documented somewhere.

I don't see the logic in attempt to pass off my question as resolved, if you don't truly know the answer. ;)

You should let other people have a chance to respond before you attempt to debunk the question.

as of right now the prevail DOES NOT HAVE ICS..offical or unofficial...the poster above is way out in left feild...more then likely it will never see official ICS..inless someone ports it..from what i have read in the prevail forum..the prevail can handle ICS..but it needs to have its internal pattitions re configured like they did on the epic 4g to make room for cm7 and cm9

1. relax

2. its just a discussion about a phone, no need to debate like you're on a highschool debate team. Bold statement with no foundation? Really?

3. Provide proof of a counterpoint.

4. If there is no special tag under someones name don't acuse them of having powers to edit your post. Instead look at whoever last edited your post.

5. We're all friends here or at the least we all get along... don't come in swinging.

6. ???????????

7. Profit.

Edit: 8. and

The SGSII internationally has official ICS, read any of the numerous stories on it on androidcentral.com.

I think by now people are quite aware the SGS2. I would totally buy one, but unfortunately, the prepaid network that I use doesn't offer that phone. That's why I upgraded from the Prevail to the Transform.

The transform is a great phone. You don't need to root it to see great things from it. I had bought a 32 gig sd card for it, but it was totally not needed. The internal space alone has enough to install every app your hearts desire, and after 20 or so apps, I still have 800 megs of internal memory. All I can say is wow!

I would really like to see ICS on this phone, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. After breaking in this phone and enjoying it, I could care less about rooting it or if ICS even becomes available OTA for it.

The excitement of ICS blows over after having it for a while. I've been experiencing compatibility issues with apps designed on prior versions of android. Things that should not force close do. the asus tf101 tablet is quite able to run everything under the sun. There's no reason that things should close like that. Once you upgrade to ICS, there's no going back. At least I don't think so.

It was really hard to unroot the tablet and upgrade ota to ICS. But based on performance of my games that were programed for prior versions, I'm half tempted to find a way. I'm still undecided if I want to take that route or not.

Your mention of bettering your phone and your friends phone at the very least is a generalized statement and needs to be more specific if someone is going to help. People have different definitions of making things better. One person's trash is another person's treasure, and vice versa.

By better, do you mean faster? Crash less? More compatibility with other devices? Please elaborate.
