Remove apps from Google Play Account

I have spoken with google as well and was told that the apps shown both in chrome and in the play store are kept there for a period of time for security reasons to show it is in fact your phone it gets stolen lol. Verizon gave a different, more "its something being worked on" issue. There are apps and phones I dont own anymore listed in chromes dashboard as are the apps. Oddly only a few apps that are preinstalled are shown there and are from my old bionic though. There are only a few listed that are on my new phone. Dont think its a bug or something they are looking into fixing

This really is a joke, a total mess.

Google's "updated/uprated" Play is rubbish.

Can't sort by status (i.e. installed or not)
Can't filter by cost (i.e. paid or not)
Can't remove devices (sorry, sold that HTC phone 2 years ago!!)
Can't uninstall apps remotely but can install them?

AND

Can't remove the crappy apps I have no intention of ever buying or installing but which clog up the list and stop me making use of the ability to reinstall.

The apps listed are not able to be downloaded again? am I reading that right? I havent tried because, like you they are apps I have no intention of reusing anyway. Still doesnt make it right. I would honestly have those apps listed though than have to deal with the garbage apps Verizon installs at will which I have never used.

Your only real option is the ability to hide the phone on the list so you cant see it there anymore but not sure if that rids the app list.

It's supposed to be an "easy way to find and install past apps" in case of a factory format.

And then I need to remember which items I actually liked enough to leave on my phone out of seven or more screens. I have several instances where it took me multiple trials to find an app for a given function that I liked, and the rejected ones are just clutter in the list, so far as I'm concerned.

I've had that experience too. You want an app that does X. So you go out and download 20 apps that all claim to do that and you go through them and test them out until you find the one you like. Then you delete the other 19 from your phone. Problem is those apps still show up. It's annoying.

Not to mention padding the install account. The deleted apps should be subtracted.

The best option for everyone (Google, Devs, and users) is to allow (multiple by necessity) labels and allow filtering by label, similar to what apporganizer does (which by the way integrates into titanium backup)

Google could, being nice (not evil) attach a filter label of the original install device's name (it wood be nice if it differentiated multiple same model devices also, for people that do a b1g1 sale), and by default, filter to the current device that is viewing the market.

It makes sense, would work, and won't piss anyone off. (well except for the apporganizer developer...)

Is there a way to remove apps from Google Play Account?

I understand the paid ones need to stay, but i have a lot of apps/games that I've installed to
try or play and no longer want, and would like to remove them from the actual Market.

While Google doesn't allow the removal of the apps from the account, I found the following while searching for removal of a device from the account. They don't allow that either but they do allow you to hide the device from the active list. A side benefit is when you follow the steps and click on My Orders & Devices from the Google Play main page, you see the list of apps you have installed (most recent first instead of A-Z). This at least is a good way to find the more recent items you have installed and perhaps makes it a bit easier to get to the important things.

This also annoys the hell out of me.

I don't want to see apps listed that I've unistalled, especially as I frequently will install a free version and if I like it, purchase the full version. Why would I want to have the free version listed as well as the full purchased version?

If they want us to have the full list of apps we've previously installed, then why can't we have an archive section that only lists our old apps not installed on any device? Or, following on this theme, have an option - something like "Send to Archive"? This way we can have a nice and clean app list.

Spoke to Google Play support yesterday, they are aware that this is an annoying issue and claim to be "working on it". No fix yet as it is in their database.

But I haven't seen any changes:
I manually downgraded the Google Play Store to the old Android Market (Uninstall Updates, under Settings --> Manage Applications). After about 15 minutes it auto-updated back to Google Play. Unfortunately, I'm still showing apps missing from my "Installed" page, but they show up as Installed on the "All" page.

Oddly enough, the Android Market correctly displayed all my apps as Installed.

Certainly is that - just done a full factory reset in about 30 minutes. This is trivial compared to the hours that I spent trying to get GMail to sync.

I also just did that, but thanks to the cluttering of the list with apps I can barely remember, it took a lot longer because I had to think about a skip over a lot of them. If they don't want to remove them, the last they could do is adapt their own gmail technology and let us label them and filter on labels.

Aside from the garbage apps cluttering the list, if they really wanted to be helpful, they'd have a 3rd tab to go with INSTALLED and ALL: the UNINSTALLED list.

They have a legal obligation to maintain a list of all purchases, so that best that could be done is allowing categorization, or "hiding" of selected apps.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the big deal of having these apps listed at Google Play ? Only problem I can see is if you have one that would be considered embarrassing (porn or something like that), one that you really wouldn't want your parents or wife to see you downloaded. Please enlighten me.

If not a total uninstall on Play - Google should have some kind of system on uninstall. Maybe one thumbs down for app was awful, 2 for didn't work right, etc. . It would help Google itself to keep track of usage.

Reviews are no help. I don't often write one as I don't feel like typing on the phone or logging in on the pc.
