Root Help: Text Messages

There was a thread about a month ago I believe, had a problem similar to mine but not quite the same. And if I remember correctly, his was fixed on its own after some time.

My text messages aren't working correctly. I cannot send SMS. I can send MMS, and receive SMS and MMS, but not send a regular text.

I thought this was some crap with metro, since I paid for 2 months in advance, and the date that my phone would have been shut off is when it started.

I just paid my bill again, and got it turned on (let it get turned off, hoping that the refreshed signal would fix it) but it still isn't working. I just updated from ZVB to ZVD, hoping to god it would work. Still no.

I'm about to root and flash mt's broken out esteem rom. If this doesn't work, does anybody have any ideas on how to fix? I really need my texts lol.

EDIT: Sorry if this doesn't belong in root, I put it here because I don't know if it could require changing things that may require root privelages (like wiping everything/changing roms/etc)

yeah try flashing a rom c if that works also wats ur prl

I'm making a backup of the stock, I'll let you know for sure once I flash it over, but I believe its 3026.

Were you using the stock messaging app or did you download one?

I would try updating os and reboot firmware...usually works out

Fuzzy I was using go SMS pro, and after it stopped working went back to stock.

I had this same problem before, because I set the option to never delete my texts. Once I cleared out my inbox it worked.
