I am looking to pick up a smart phone to use with a T-mobile no contract plan and I really don't know specifically what to look for to make sure it will work.

The features I want:
-android
-4g compatable
-decent processor/speed, not too outdated.
-nice screen

That said I don't necessarily need the lastest model $450 unlocked phone, I will entertain different price points and looking for deals on refurbished/used phones.

Mainly I just need to know what to look for to make sure a phone will work on t-mobile, and with their 4g.

Well you can get the HTC Mytouch 4G Slide which has a 3.7" super LCD screen with a screen resolution of 480x800 @252 DPI. Has the same exact chipset as the SGS2 Skyrocket, Epic Touch, and Hercules just is manufacture underclocked to 1.2 ghz (which is dual core) but still runs nice and smooth. Has a front facing VGA camera and a nice 8MP rear camera which can record 1080p @30fps. Has a trackpad, physical keyboard, dedicated camera key. It's a nice phone and you can get them for fairly cheap used from ebay and craigslist if you look you can get one for around the $200-$300 price range. And it is a T-mp phone capable of their "4G".
