Generic charger freezing HTC Evo

After going Sprint 6 times in one week and waiting hours ,and being told nothing wrong with phone after reset and diagnosis tests because phone been freezing for weeks I figure out problem. I bought a generic charger at Walmart and it was causing phone to get so hot the screen would stop working. When I would unplug from it and use the charger that came with phone it would work great everytime... Throwing away this charging and sticking with Sprint product for this expense phone.

Also came close buying new phone which is already way to expense but worth every penny. Man and to think it was only the wrong charger. The charger was made for Evo but of course because it was cheap thats just what it was CHEAP !

You know the saying if it looks to cheap to be true then it usually is, you get what you pay for

Welcome aboard. I'm happy to know that you've figured out the problem. Its never recommended to use any non-approve accessories for your device.

Here s more info on that problem I had. The phone touch screen would either not move or be hard to move or hardly move at all. Not only would it not work but wouldnt move sideway so I couldnt get to bookmarks either. I also at times could not move screen downto open phone or if I had to use my pattern password as I move my fingers the line would go on its owe to a pattern I didnt do. Thought I would have buy new phone since Sprint couldnt find problem either and they since they wouldnt replace.... But God is so good and havent had any problems since I start just using the Sprint charger only.
