Help Not receiving text messages

Just got my Droid Incredible 2 a month ago. 2 days ago it stopped receiving text messages. I know people were texting me.

The only way I received messages was by texting my own number, which let all the other messages through.

Anyone have this same problem?
Anyone know how to fix this?

I have a similar issue. I don't receive SMSs and even calls in the morning. Only when I send my first SMS or make a call, I receive all the held us SMSs which were sent to me. I think when I send a SMS, the network gets initialised somehow.
I had once installed Easy Battery Saver, which tinkered with my network and which I think might have caused this problem. I had also forgotten to restore the network settings before uninstalling the application. Later I reinstalled, reset the network settings and uninstalled, but the problem still remains.
So I have again installed the application and I am trying out its various settings hoping to solve the problem.

Model No. : Karbonn A9
Android Version : 2.3.6

One way I can solve this problem is by keeping my data connection on for the whole night so that the data connection initialises my network in the morning.

You might have better luck posting in a forum specific to your phone instead of the Incredible 2 forum :smokingsomb:

I have this problem, just with the not receiving texts, all the time with my Dinc2, probably on average once a week or so. I have to reboot my phone and then I start receiving texts again although it doesn't forward me the ones I know I missed. I don't know if this is a problem with HTC or Verizon or what but it also used to happen all the time on my HTC Eris and my daughter used to have the HTC Thunderbolt and had the same problem. I know of no way to fix it except to reboot regularly which of course I am too lazy to do. It is a pain though because you have no way of knowing you are missing texts until someone calls you up and says...."for God's sake why aren't you responding to my texts?!!!??"

This is the EXACT problem I appear to be having. Just called VZW and they are creating a ticket. They say they will call back in 3 to 5 days with an answer. :(

Similar problem on Huawei AscendY for straighttalk. Rooted, recently working again after launcher accidentally deleted. Can send, but not receive, SMS. Stock messaging app missing (don't recall deleting it), can send texts through Chomp

Often people seem to have luck using GoSMS Pro (free).

You could always try dialing *28891 to update your prl

I am having a texting problem as well. I recently got the Samsung Galaxy S3. I don't get every text from everyone. I have been to the Verizon store several times to figure this out and close to going back to the iPhone. I never had this problem on iPhone. The guy at Verizon said that some of my contacts still think I'm on iPhone and they need to change something in their settings regarding SMS/MMS. If this is true, this is a major flaw and why would anyone switch from iPhone to Samsung in the first place. I would think Samsung would anticipate issues like this and there would be some software in the background that would make issues like this never happen. Here's the weird thing, it doesn't happen all the time and I'v e tried to troubleshoot the problem and narrow it down, but its making my brain hurt. Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know a fix? Telling all my contacts to change something in their phone seems like too much of a hassle, this can't be the easiest fix.
